Then maybe stop chatting with AI sex bots and touch some grass.

Better yet, do both. Do drugs outside.

Do drugs outside

Inform yourself beforehand. This can get dangerous pretty fast, but yeah it is great.

[–] ivanafterall@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Yeah, I'd also specify: outside, away from people, where you feel safe, etc...etc...

Just don't take psychedelics and stay cooped up inside, if nature is accessible, that's all I mean. Inside = probably a bad trip, for me. Outside = magic.

[–] kamenlady@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago

Yeah if nature is available, it's a no brainer.

Since i live in the city, i had a "alone and drugged up in the nightlife of a big city" scene in mind, when i wrote that comment.

taking shrooms and then going out and staring at the stars while laying in some grass was a very enjoyable experience for me

You guys can x? meme

You guys can see stars?

Tap for spoiler

I'm a bortle 5/6 and exaggerating for the meme, but still. Can hardly see shit.

I was in the outskirts of Phoenix at the time. It definitely wasn’t the greatest light pollution wise, but definitely better compared to bright as fuck NJ where I live.

20 mins north of Cooperstown NY is still the best sky watching I have ever seen. That’s the only time I have seen the Milky Way in person.

[–] Mac@mander.xyz 2 points 2 days ago

I could see it as a young'n in rural NM. I want to visit a dark sky location but there arent any (in level 1 class sky) within a ~15hr drive :/

And masturbate

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Best I can do is touch some sex grass, final offer.

[–] MrSelfDestruct@lemmy.zip 2 points 2 days ago

Best I can do is ass grass.

But I've seen the movie? He gets obsessed with an AI chatbot.

[–] mrmisses@lemmy.world 11 points 2 days ago (1 children)

You think this but you'd be wrong... Things will feel worse and continue to feel worse in new and unexpected ways. The pain never ends, until you do.

Yeah life after 40 had me experiencing a while new style of pain and terror. Fantastic.

[–] BackgrndNoize@lemmy.world 12 points 2 days ago

I sometimes think like this but then I realize it's mostly my depression talking. I'll keep trying to experience new things and let life surprise me.

[–] NoForwadSlashS@piefed.social 14 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Aw man I already felt joy, I don't need to feel that again.

[–] yakko@feddit.uk 2 points 2 days ago

Given the average dosage historically I might have already had enough whimsy for a lifetime

AND YET-

[–] 9point6@lemmy.world 8 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (1 children)

There's always something new, emotions aren't finite. Pretty arrogantly lazy to conclude there's nothing better than one's existing experiences.

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.dbzer0.com 9 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Having seen the movie, it's not so much arrogance and laziness (though there's some mental laziness to him as well), as existential dread, post-divorce pessimism, and general weltschmerz 🀷🏻

This is the Internet. There will be no attempt to apply context or nuance to anything.

Heights scare me.

If I ride a roller coaster, or parasail, or zipline, I'll feel a thrill.

There are safe and sane ways to do things that will make you feel alive.

[–] dohpaz42@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago (2 children)

What’s that say that to β€œfeel alive” we must constantly scare ourselves?

[–] otacon239@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

To understand the value of life, it helps to contrast that with the fragility of it.

[–] DagwoodIII@piefed.social 2 points 2 days ago

No, to feel alive we have to constantly challenge ourselves.

I said there are safe and sane ways to feel alive. You can go to a Pride March, or try kareoke, or learn to play an instrument.

I picked fear because it's an extreme feeling.
