He looks older on the left, wtf?

The adult version still have plenty of face wrinkles. If it was botox, those wouldn't be there, right?

[–] dditty@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 1 week ago

And worse haircut

[–] Cethin@lemmy.zip 4 points 1 week ago

That's what a personal trainer and effectively infinite money will do for you.

[–] capt_wolf@lemmy.world 28 points 1 week ago

He looks like a mom about to go pick her kids up from soccer practice.

[–] bitjunkie@lemmy.world 15 points 1 week ago (1 children)

This can't be real, can it?

[–] The_Picard_Maneuver@lemmy.world 54 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I think it is. Looking at some other photos, it looks like he got a lot of sun or smoked or something from an early age + an unflattering pose.

[–] blarghly@lemmy.world 36 points 1 week ago (2 children)

yeah, I have no proof and have done no research, but my guess is that in the earlier photos he is a chef, and in the latter photos he is a celebrity chef.

Chefs work long hours and late nights in an extremely stressful job. They are renouned for their habits of heavy drinking and chain smoking. Stress, poor sleep, drinking, and smoking, all contribute to premature aging.

But celebrity chefs must look good. This isn't to say their job isnt stressful - but there is an additional pressure put on them to look good for the camera, because while your mom might love you no matter what, people watching tv mostly wanna look at pretty people. Enter: professional skin care routines, botox, personal chefs, personal lifestyle coaches, professional hair stylists, personal assistants, style consultants, and hair and makeup anytime you go out in public. Any celebrity who still gives a shit about their career and public image has a small army of people dedicated to keeping them looking as young and hot as possible for as long as possible.

Hence the apparent reverse aging effect. A combination of having a low starting point, and then making significant improvements in both health and aesthetics.

If I remember correctly, he has talked about how he used to be overweight and out of shape. When he started running to get healthier people (kids probably) would point at him and laugh. But he persevered and now he runs a lot, eats oatmeal every morning, etc.

I do t think that’s true, or he must have been quite young because he always talks about how he wanted to go pro as a football player and damaged his ankle or knee and had to give up on that dream.

Found what I was thinking of:

My memory wasn't entirely correct. Sounds like running started as a coping mechanism, not to lose weight.

Thanks

That’s an interesting read, I guess I know less about him than I thought.

But it seems like good advice

I happened to look up Emeril Lagasse today and I was assuming he's in the vicinity of 90 now. Turns out he's actually only 66, which is incredible. Celebrity chefhood hasn't helped him out at all.

[–] SkunkWorkz@lemmy.world 12 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

he looked like Ellen DeGenerate or whatever she's called

[–] programmer_belch@lemmy.dbzer0.com 9 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Looks like old pyrocynical

[–] protogen420@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 1 week ago

pyro is more femine though and way cuter

bro was born at an old age

[–] edgemaster72@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago

He came out of the womb shouting "it's fucking raw!"

(to a 9 year old) At your age i was 17

[–] FauxLiving@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago

The jeans put him squarely in the 80s

[–] jobbies@lemmy.zip 4 points 1 week ago

Archetypal 'face like a bulldog chewing a wasp'

[–] MonsterWithBow@lemmy.today 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

The left photo looks fake. Unless he has 2 different sized arms, but I don’t think so 😝

[–] JennaR8r@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

I agree it looks fake. Head is disproportionate to the size of the body in that left photo. And lighting & resolution on the face is incongruous to the lighting & resolution in the rest of the photo. And I'm not a photoshop-ologist but it really does kinda look photoshopped.

[–] hOrni@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

The reverse Paul Rudd.

[–] sunbytes@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

You've heard of ten pounds of shit in a five pound bag.

This is the other way round.

The feller's all bag, no shit.
