Never mind any of that - does no-one do market research anymore? Did anyone bother to ask customers if they actually wanted any of this AI crap before billions of dollars was commited to it? Not to mention the damage to the environment.

What's funny is its not the first time Microsoft has found itself out of touch with customers.

Hmm. Maybe I'll give it a go.

I don't know. I wouldn't expect photos to turn out as good as on an iPhone but I'd be amazed if there wasn't any FOSS camera apps or photo tools that can improve them.

Been on GOS on my Pixel 9 Pro XL for about a year and use the default camera app (the GOS one, not the Pixel one).

I'm not a pro photographer and the photos I've taken lately look like they were captured on a low-res laptop webcam. I'm suddenly appreciating how easy it was to take decent photos on iPhone.

What camera app do you use? Or are you using a separate device? Any recommendations would be much appreciated.

Have you ever tried to operate a touch screen with wet fingers?

Fatal error: file not found Can I offer you a nice egg in this trying time?

A few ideas:

  • it'd come in like a wrecking ball
  • it would be slimmed-down, surgically
  • notification every 5 secs to remind you that her dad is (supposedly) a big deal
  • it would be annoyingly noisy

I'm going round in circles on this one.

What I want to do is:

  • serve up my self-hosted apps with https (to local clients only - nothing over the open web)
  • address them as 'app.server.lan' or 'sever.lan/app'
  • preferably host whatever is needed in docker

I think this is achievable with a reverse proxy, some kind of DNS server and self-signed certs. I'm not a complete noob but my knowledge in this area is lacking. I've done a fair bit of research but I'm probably not using the right terminology or whatever.

Would anyone have a link to a good guide that covers this?

Am a bit new to all this so apologies if terminology etc isn't correct.

I have my server with apps in docker containers. I have gluetun set-up and working, serving an internet connection to the rest of the containers.

I'm thinking about going down the Tailscale route so that I can use the apps when I'm away from home - haven't needed to so far but its nice to have the option.

For that to work I think I'll need two VPN connections - one to extend the LAN away from the house, the other to provide internet access.

If so, how the hell do I go about setting that up? Can I do this with Gluetun or do I need something else?

Any wise words or links to set-up guides would be much appreciated.
