Imagine if this becomes Trumps version of Hitlers "but he built the autobahn". The one good thing he did that people in the future will use to make it look like he "wasnt all bad".

Yeah, but he also...

...

...

sigh.

Yep. This might be it.

He also got the world to stop relying on the US. Well not yet, but we might get there.

[–] notabot@piefed.social 11 points 2 weeks ago

He's also accidentally accelerated the world's shift to renewables. It's still not fast enough, but it's better than it was.

hell, even hilter had more than just the autobahn - nazis also brought about the first decent animal cruelty laws. Plus he killed hitler! Trump tho, this might really be the only thing. It's the only one I can think of at least, and it hasn't even happened yet..

Yeah this and killing the penny

Minor decent things that really don't make a difference in the suffering of the people

It's like if somebody was robbing you and then tipped you a couple of dollars for being a good victim.

And before this last election, I was even looking forward to a celebration of what we had not a memorial for what we are losing at 250 years.

That and making petrol so expensive even hardcore conservatives are considering electric cars

[–] boobs_@lemmy.world 5 points 2 weeks ago

Even if we don't get rid of dst, at least he got rid of the penny

[–] GeneralEmergency@lemmy.world 4 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Lemmites have been doing that for years now

No, give us permanent DST, during winter half the country drives home from work watching the sun set.

Edit: wait that's what he's doing. Even malicious and incompetent people accidely do something good occasionally.

[–] BigBenis@lemmy.world 12 points 2 weeks ago

Holy shit, is that man behind his shoulder pregnant with triplets?

[–] Zier@fedia.io 12 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

So this idiot wants DST to be the standard, instead of the actual Standard time. Typical trump fucking up a good idea. In 1974 we did this and people HATED it. The whole planet should be on Standard time. If you need to change hours so your business is open more during daylight, change your damn Winter hours, don't expect an entire nation to change the clock.

[–] halcyoncmdr@piefed.social 10 points 2 weeks ago

That's the plan Congress has been tossing around for years. It's always staying on Daylight time for some stupid reason.

[–] stoly@lemmy.world 10 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

It would genuinely be easier to change the start times of elementary schools to match the daylight hours than to make everyone change their sleep patterns twice a year.

[–] Alcoholicorn@mander.xyz 2 points 2 weeks ago

That's its own beast; do you stagger the start times so that teenagers that are up the latest get proper sleep, or do you reverse it so they can take care of the younger kids?

I would say "What the fuck teach your five year old to walk down the street or talk to your community to help them, you have utterly failed at your job as a parent if your kid has that little ability to act independently of you" But that's why the school asked me showing up to random parent-teacher conferences.

"Well, it's Trump O'Clock now...I'll meet you at the Gulf of America between Trump thirty and Trump 45"

[–] Techranger@infosec.pub 1 points 2 weeks ago

He'll give new meaning to the "Golden Hour".

[–] Kazumara@discuss.tchncs.de 4 points 2 weeks ago

They call it "Sunshine Protection Act" ? These people are so unserious.

[–] FreddiesLantern@leminal.space 4 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I’m just wondering what happened to all the daylight that we did save up over the years?

[–] chooglers@midwest.social 1 points 2 weeks ago

they freaked it
