No, give us permanent DST, during winter half the country drives home from work watching the sun set.
Edit: wait that's what he's doing. Even malicious and incompetent people accidely do something good occasionally.
Exactly, permanent DST buys you an extra hour of daylight in the evening, at the cost of having to do morning stuff with 1 hour earlier levels of sunlight.
NYC is north of most of America. The earliest the sun sets is 430, itll be 530. So yeah in the absolute worst case, northern people in the dead of winter, they will drive home as the sun sets instead of at night. But later in the year and further south, it will give you meaningful time at home during daylight. I do kinda wonder if itll increase car accidents for people who drive to New Jersey after work.

I haven't been in America for a year and a half, but the data says otherwise. Are you in a cloudy area?
5pm is standard, throw in 30-45 minute commute, I'd wager roughly half of americans have better conditions, half worse.
