The universe must really love me. I know, because it's always trying to fuck me.

Keep moving forward.

How lucky am I to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard

You only need to endure today once.

When I'm anxious about an upcoming thing I like to tell myself that it likely won't be as bad as I expect it to be. Tends to hold true.

Very true most of the time!

No feeling is final, tomorrow will come and you will be there. The way you feel today defines where you are, not who you are.

“Life’s a B and then you D” but literally like that so it rhymes and sounds silly rather than dire. Then my mind wanders to try making a new line to rhyme. Whimsy rhyme time as temporary distraction.

Day by day - focus on now.

The beautiful* thing is: the day will end and begin again regardless of my opinion on the matter.

I tend to write a lot, and I develop ways to say the same thing in multiple ways, which creates new pathways in your head to help the healing and reconditioning process. It's similar to the effect of learning a new language has on neuroplasticity. I highly recommend investing a lot of consistent time in journaling in a freewriting style. Whatever pops to head, put down, and this has improved my skill in writing and giving myself therapy. You'll cycle through similar thoughts and find new paths to take old thoughts by being mindful.

"What is your duty?" Asked by a Chaplain, a warrior-priest overseeing the physical and psychological wellbeing of their fellow battle brothers.

Originally from this video https://youtu.be/O1MSPCXMn0Y and yes I've gone through all 10h of it multiple times during depression.

This one captures the essence of it rather well too https://youtu.be/R1IaMSz8AFk

I just really like the "Beatings shall continue until morale improves" approach for pushing myself, rather effective

Nice one, that got a chuckle out of me.

I am attempting to be less negative in general.

When I catch myself thinking that I "hate" some experience I'm going through, I try to change the thought to: "I would love for this to be easier"

That phrase is really helpful! I’m gonna teach it to my kids (and myself). Thanks

When it is time for the cream to rise to the top, all of the powers of the universe combined cannot stop it.
