Looks like all that construction work distraction was to hide all the medical equipment they needed to bring into the White House.

Makes sense he knows when he technically not allowed a third term. So if he leaves for anything after 2029 he will not be allowed back into the white house. So he going need all the medical shit there with him.

Of course he too fucking stupid to know being in the White House doesn't make you president. The new president can do his job from anywhere.

... So basically he's just doing the Mr. House thing, and building himself a combo fortress/vitality pod, so that he can just remain President for as long as inhumanly possible.

He's building the Emperor's throne from Warhammer 40k.

He read/saw enough of the insane QAnon 'medbed' memes that he's trying to actually build one.

God damnit.

It'd be easier to just hide him first then when he dies make an AI Trump to ramble nonsense

[–] sp3ctr4l@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 5 hours ago

Great, so then the Enclave AI President Eden thing.

Awesome.

[–] mlg@lemmy.world 15 points 13 hours ago

A bit hard to see, but I thought it was funny.

Capitol & Supreme court hospice buildings are not that far.

They are going to keep him around on life support as long as possible. The moment he dies the GOP goes with him

[–] MisterD@lemmy.ca 3 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

The GOP will just use AI to pretend he's still alive.

The shittiest, oldest, craziest LLM is still so sane and articulate that nobody will buy it.

I've been around long enough I've stopped counting the times the gop was supposed to die.

They won't. And people certainly won't wake up and stop voting for them or wake up and actually start voting, though they should.

[–] Steve@startrek.website 7 points 13 hours ago

Goddamn I hope so

[–] Soulphite@reddthat.com 7 points 15 hours ago (2 children)

I've never wished for the demise of another human being, but there's always one exception.

[–] P00ptart@lemmy.world 2 points 13 hours ago

That's basically my main pass time now.

It's like a clown painting a big giant bulls-eye hundreds of feet round, in big bright white and red, so that it can be seen from 30,000 feet and placing themselves at the very center of it and challenging everyone around that no one could possibly hit him with anything.

These people parody themselves.

If the corporate news had 1/1000th of a backbone we’d be clowning on these motherfuckers for the rest of time.

But, they don’t. So. Here we are.

Then the surprise: The “Military Top Secret Ballroom” will also feature special underground medical facilities for the aging president, Blanche noted.

“The Project, which includes a state-of-the-art hospital and medical facilities, Top Secret military installations, bomb shelters, structures, and equipment, protective partitioning, and other features—is fully designed to protect the President,” he wrote.

So here's the thing: having something like that is probably a good idea. Having a modern one instead of whatever outdated one was already there is probably a good thing.

Pulling down an entire wing to "build a ballroom" as cover, then revealing the bunker anyway is pure idiocy.

[–] pelespirit@sh.itjust.works 16 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

There must be a reason that they're hiding that part and they didn't want anyone to know about it. My guess is that they're going to try and do the weekend at bernies thing, fr. Parade him in front of reporters every now and then, when he has a good day. The rest of the time, they pump him full of shit that keeps him alive. There's no way they're going to let his power and cash grab go away.

THEY ARE RECRUITING BODY "VOLUNTEERS" TO HOST HIS HEAD!

[–] Brummbaer@pawb.social 10 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

Normal countries don't have a god-emperor president that needs to be protected at all costs. This is not even about Trump, they did that to all the presidents before.

I never understood the "prepper" fetish the US has.

In other countries the president might be your next door neighbour and you have 2-3 policemen around to keep the weirdos off.

[–] phdepressed@sh.itjust.works 6 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

Multiple presidents have been assassinated or attempted to be assassinated. Which put lightly is vexing to the notion of US democracy wherein only the people (not one person) should remove a president. Mix that with hyper -isms (national, patriot) and viola. The secret service legislation was literally on Lincoln's desk when he was assassinated.

[–] smeenz@lemmy.nz 1 points 12 hours ago* (last edited 12 hours ago)

I wish the people would get on with that removal
