Here we can discuss anything about this Lemmy instance/server itself.

I did not know about this, thank you! I use LibraryThing rather than Bookwyrm, but I'm intrigued by Bookwyrm nonetheless. I'll check it out!

Fits the bill. It's not book specific, but I suspect books would be appreciated there, and given the niche I don't imagine it needs to be so specifically fractured.
Thank you! That's actually where I've posted this request, but...I forgot it's federated everywhere. Looks like I'm still getting used to Lemmy instances and how they work, LOL!
Same instance yeah. This instance would make sense for a book specific community regardless, but I think there's something to be said for just using the general solarpunk community.
Agreed lemmy search can be hard lol
Had to look that up... So, it seems to be protopian fiction, typically sci-fi or sci-fantasy, with a cyberpunk type feel?
We need more protopian literature.
Dystopian media tell us what the problems are and shows us why, what their outcomes look like, but there is far less protopian media to tell us what the solutions are or show us how or why they work.
Anyway, good luck on you hunt for a solarpunk community.
Yeah, that's basically it. It's fiction that features a future in which people are adapting to climate change and focuses on sustainable living and technologies. A few years back you wouldn't have found anything searching for solarpunk fiction, but it seems to have been gaining popularity lately. I've always enjoyed speculative fiction, and I agree with you that we need more protopians in our collective imagination.
If it doesn't already exist, you can always start your own.
I may do so--being new I wanted to make sure I wasn't copying anyone's existing work.
