In Idiocracy they actually valued an intelligent person and wanted him to lead them. We're living through the prequel, we even have "ow, my balls" (jackass)

Don't Look Up.

[–] LittleBorat3@lemmy.world 11 points 2 days ago

I don't get this, any other meth head who is not kid rock would do a better job.

[–] 8oow3291d@feddit.dk 14 points 2 days ago (6 children)

From https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/kid-rock-address-pentagon/

The image is real and U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth shared it on social media. However, the caption claiming Kid Rock addressed the Strait of Hormuz was fabricated, originating in an X post from a user who has shared fictional and humorous content.

Fully devolving into “random idiot’s opinion is better than expert analysis.”

[–] ThePowerOfGeek@lemmy.world 18 points 3 days ago (1 children)

We're nearly at peak Idiocracy levels.

[–] grue@lemmy.world 10 points 3 days ago

No we aren't. We're already past them.

Kid Rock looks like a man who's only allowed to see his kids every other weekend, but doesn't.

[–] WizardofFrobozz@lemmy.ca 31 points 3 days ago (1 children)

This is more an indictment of your high ranking officers than of the Trump administration.

Look at those cowardly, servile lapdogs sitting there allowing themselves to be addressed in the Pentagon by Kid Rock.

[–] tacoplease@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago

I'd rather announce to the room that my explosive diarrhea is preventing me from attending and embarrassing myself than actually attending.

[–] magnetosphere@fedia.io 56 points 3 days ago (3 children)

This is insulting. Also, being forced to listen to Kid Rock speak on any topic is cruel and unusual punishment.

This world is post-satire. The Onion can close shop.

I wanna see what they do with Infowars now that they're buying it

I haven't seen idiocracy in a while, but do they ever talk about the world as a whole in that movie. Because it would be kind of funny if the world was thriving, while america just does idiocracy

[–] yenahmik@lemmy.world 6 points 2 days ago (1 children)

The more time goes on, the more I'm convinced the Mayans were right and the world really did end in 2012. Everything since has been a slow decent into absurdism.

[–] bitjunkie@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago

tHaNkS, oBaMa!!1

[–] postmateDumbass@lemmy.world 20 points 3 days ago (4 children)

I'm curious what advice Mr. Kid Rock had for the admirals and generals.

[–] TwodogsFighting@lemdro.id 12 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Isn't this against the Geneva convention?

[–] FrChazzz@lemmus.org 18 points 3 days ago

How things have changed. My childhood best friend was my pastor's son and I remember him sneakily buying Kid Rock's "Devil Without A Cause" while on a church trip and hiding it because such music was considered demonic. Now Kid Rock is held up by the same people who populated my childhood church as an exemplar of conservative values or whatever? FOH

[–] HulkSmashBurgers@reddthat.com 24 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Is this real?

Fucin' hell if it is.

[–] lefaucet@slrpnk.net 10 points 3 days ago

Yup. It's on usa today and msn at least. Apparently they decided to spend a few tens of millions to fly kid rock and Hegseth around in apache helicopters.

F'n disgrace

Surely this will make the military be willing to do a coup on trumps account

[–] yakko@feddit.uk 15 points 3 days ago (9 children)

I was kind of going they would do a coup against him.

I came here hoping for someone calling this out as AI slop....unfortunately, this is apparently real.

[–] WhatsHerBucket@lemmy.world 8 points 3 days ago (1 children)

They are just getting him primed for Secretary of Defense

[–] psycho_driver@lemmy.world 8 points 3 days ago

I believe the term is "fluffed".

[–] Gammelfisch@lemmy.world 7 points 3 days ago

Another pedo and pedo protector in the Pentagon. WTF!?!?

[–] JamesBoeing737MAX@sopuli.xyz 2 points 2 days ago

Also Dr. Phil, a proud immigrant genocide and Autistic murder supporter.

I wonder why they haven't also started genociding/deporting idiots... Oh wait... yeah that's why.

[–] turtlesareneat@piefed.ca 10 points 3 days ago (3 children)

Tell me this didn't actually happen

[–] BucketBong@p.hobo.social 33 points 3 days ago

Ohh it happened, that really happened....

Directly from hegseths twitter.

[–] CombatWombat@feddit.online 13 points 3 days ago

I regret to inform you it probably did: https://www.middleeasteye.net/live-blog/live-blog-update/kid-rock-addressed-pentagon-strait-hormuz

Most US sources are focused on the helicopter ride, but the rest of the details seem to line up, so I’m filling this under: probably happened.
