According to https://slrpnk.net/instances hilariouschaos is a blocked instance.

Here we can discuss anything about this Lemmy instance/server itself.

Why is lemmy.org blocked? They seem to have a lot of solarpunk-adjacent content (big Fuck Cars community). Is it just too big?
We outlined why we defederated from lemmy.org in February's Monthly Meta.
The fuck cars community is hosted on lemmy.ml, which we are federated with. Lemmy.org is an entirely separate small instance that does not have an active admin or moderation, and happens to have a very similar name to lemmy.ml. The admin that is there is essentially a bot that automatically posts crypto and tech-bro AI stuff, and they could not be reached about the other issues related to their instance, making defederation the only option.
Thanks, I was confused between lemmy.org and lemmy.ml - thought .org was the big one.
Thanks. I click the blocked tab and there is no column for rationale. Will report a bug on this.
Update: reported here
Hilarious Chaos, whether intended or not, took in a bunch of users from another deeply conservative based instance that has largely been defederated from, so it was more or less a duplicate of an already disliked instance. As such, HC is also defederated against by a lot of other big instances.
It may have something to do with the 8 censures it has received. https://gui.fediseer.com/instances/detail/hilariouschaos.com
Good resource. I wonder why slrpnk gave no rationale on that page. I would think solar punks would be pro-transparency.
(edit) Do you know how to grab that data? I have been grabbing a fediseer dataset using this link https://fediseer.com/api/v1/all_instances, but the censure_reasons field is null for hilariouschaos.com.
Hmm, I don't remember us putting that into Fediseer. Either that was a long time ago, or Fediseer also pulls in defederations automatically?
The reason hilariouschaos.com is defederated is because it became a Nazi bar and their admins seemed totally ok with that.
or Fediseer also pulls in defederations automatically?
It does not. You can edit your existing censures at any point though to clarify them further.
We announced the defederation from Hilariouschaos and outlined our reasons for it in last year's November monthly meta discussion.
