At least everything in the Fyre Festival sandwich was identifiable.

Welcome to the News community!
Rules:
1. Be civil
Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.
2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.
Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.
3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.
Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.
4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.
Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.
5. Only recent news is allowed.
Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.
6. All posts must be news articles.
No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.
7. No duplicate posts.
If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.
8. Misinformation is prohibited.
Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.
9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.
All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.
10. Don't copy entire article in your post body
For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.
I was on the Lincoln in the 90s during some operations in the Persian Gulf that prevented us from docking anywhere nearby for over 2 months.
Yeah, we ran low on some of the fresh veggies and milk, but we never came close to this level. We did underway replenishment several times from supply ships. We even got mail. Aren't they doing UNREPs?
What I think is odd is that AFAIK, only the carriers and subs have nuclear power; the smaller ships that are part of the battle group - that are responsible for protecting the carrier - are diesel, and require refueling. Resupplying things like food, toiletries, and other consumables happens at the same time, from the same ship that provides fuel. They're obviously refueling, so why aren't they getting other supplies?
Whatever the fuck is going on here is a major supply failure, and the public and Congress need to know about it. WTF.
Imagine spending trillions on your war machine for decades and when you actually go to war the basics like food logistics aren't there. That's just sad...
I mean, an unknown quantity of that money has just gone to well connected middlemen who got a suspiciously good supply contract with the military. Essentially laundering taxpayer money into billionaire pockets.
most of the defense budget goes to contractors, not surprising
I am kind of baffled by the absence of food in the US military, especially the US Navy. That's like the third item on the logistics checklist with ammunition and fuel being first and second.
This also gives some credence to rumors the fire was deliberately started on Gerald due to moral issues.
the toilets were not working PROPERly.
My friend in Greece sent me a couple pictures of Gerald asking if I knew which one it was. Took me a moment because I was shocked with how bad of a condition she is in, and this was before the fire! Everything about that ship screams fraud, waste ,and abuse of public trust.
Gotta keep your human meat shie-I MEAN, soldiers, malnourished and begging for scraps to stave off a radical revolution!
Wait, did I say "stave off"? I meant "encourage".
Just getting them used to how they'll be treated as veterans by the government, I guess.
I see they put Sysco in charge of the rations now.
Say what you want about Sysco, Their food is still recognizably food most days and still recognizably edible on bad ones.
This? Is that shoe leather next to a rubber gasket?
Sysco is not good food lmao.
Agreed.
You'll notice I didn't say 'good' food. just... recognizable as food. usually.
I'm baffled. I thought they would limit the corruption to skim off a few bucks here or there, but seems like they are fully cashing in now.
The article failed to identify the gray fruit roll up
looks more like gray spam meat that went bad.
I've eaten military and maritime cuisine and I genuinely have no idea what that is, or is supposed to be. I see carrots, cat puke, and... it's like what you'd get if you pureed meat, then extruded and preserved it. It's like when you see fictional scifi space meals, that aren't food, just nutrients.
Think that extruded think is a sheet of rubber gasket material.
Could be wrong.
Probably just as chewy, though
I think it's what's left after putting a Jolly Rancher under the insole of a midshipman's shoe for a couple days
jolly rancher would be too bougie.
I think they ran a can of spam through the potato peeler.
or let age like meat would in the sun.
Looks like gyro meat. Like lamb/beef strips
its probably from low quality meat from animal.
Historically, has military mail required civilian airspace to be open? I really don't think that excuse works.
Speed running their way to a military coup I see.
Hahaha, this is fucking hilarious!
I don't care. Nobody forced them to participate in this war of aggression
Imagine a US resistance capable of feeding seamen, and what an organization capable of that could achieve.
Good
