[–] Lost_My_Mind@lemmy.world 29 points 3 months ago

On your wedding daaaaay

It's a bullet to the neeeck

When you've spent your career advocating against sensible gun control legislation

[–] NocturnalMorning@lemmy.world 4 points 3 months ago (1 children)

The syllables in that last bit i had a hard time fitting the song. But I made it work.

[–] jballs@sh.itjust.works 3 points 3 months ago

Yeah it's a bit much, but you can't put limits on art. Not gonna lie, I was kinda hoping someone else would pick up the thread with Bill Montgomery. Something like:

It's like starting a "grass roots" student group

When you're seventy two

[–] tanisnikana@lemmy.world 25 points 3 months ago

I’m so posthumously proud of them. Real men of convictions they are.

[–] kokesh@lemmy.world 21 points 3 months ago (2 children)

Love this so much. They died by what they stood for. Now they are in hell having free heating for eternity. Thoughts and prayers 🙏

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 11 points 3 months ago (2 children)

ERIKA Kirk did celebrate his death

[–] NihilsineNefas@slrpnk.net 2 points 3 months ago

Wouldn't expect any less from a cia asset, that's kinda their entire thing.

[–] Rivermoonwolf@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago

With Super-Duper Moral Vance, no less.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 7 points 3 months ago

When jerks like this die (Limbaugh, Cheney, etc.), I always have a slight regret at being atheist. Upon hearing the news of their deaths, I often take a moment and imagine that if I were a believer, I would be taking pleasure from knowing that the monster is now entering Hell where he is is being sentenced to an eternity of fiery torture.

But, alas, no. They're just dead. Not nearly as satisfyingly dramatic, but good enough.

[–] Entertainmeonly@lemmy.blahaj.zone 20 points 3 months ago (2 children)

Is it irony or poetic justice?

[–] Imgonnatrythis@sh.itjust.works 4 points 3 months ago

For song purposes it's ironic

[–] FlashMobOfOne@lemmy.world 19 points 3 months ago (1 children)

It was deliciously ironic.

Unfortunately the mania they kicked up for cash lives on.

[–] Smaile@lemmy.ca 1 points 3 months ago

thats a good thing, it tarnishes they're reputation and goals. the Charly Kerk song is a good indication of that.

How did they have pro-covid stance in 2012? Checkmate libtards. (/s)

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 1 points 3 months ago

[–] RememberTheApollo_@lemmy.world 9 points 3 months ago

Live by the sword… Reap what you sow.

[–] ilinamorato@lemmy.world 9 points 3 months ago

Checkmate, atheists.

[–] DontRedditMyLemmy@lemmy.world 8 points 3 months ago (2 children)

"died to"?

Died from? Died due to?

[–] GandalftheBlack@feddit.org 4 points 3 months ago

It's perfectly valid

[–] VoteNixon2016@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I'm picturing it like a Dark Souls boss fight

[–] soul@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago

YOU DIED...

[–] PunnyName@lemmy.world 6 points 3 months ago (1 children)

This could be a Magic card.

But it shouldn't. We should see less of these dead fascists, not more. Ignore their existences. Let them fade into obscurity.

[–] trollercoaster@sh.itjust.works 6 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago) (1 children)

As long as fascists exist, I prefer seeing dead ones over live ones.

For letting them fade into obscurity, I agree to a degree. But it is a two edged sword. Because the only thing that enables those vile individuals to take power in all sorts of places over and over again is because people forget about fascism and how it works.

Remember how one of the most prolific examples of fascist rulers came to power. Hitler himself didn't just grab power. He tried to do so, was convicted and jailed for his attempted coup, wrote a book detailing all of his plans and insane ideology while in jail, was released early, and was subsequently allowed to run for office again. Once his party gained an alarming number of votes, conservatives collaborated with him, thinking they could control him, and made him Chancellor. The rest is history. See any parallels between how the Weimar Republic turned into Nazi Germany and some other country acquiring a fascist ruler in this recent time?

[–] PunnyName@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

I'd prefer to see zero fascists. Ideally because they died. Once dead, forget them.

[–] RagingRobot@lemmy.world 5 points 3 months ago

Dreams can come true!

[–] OldChicoAle@lemmy.world 4 points 3 months ago

LMAO. Good riddance

[–] AdolfSchmitler@lemmy.world 4 points 3 months ago

Good to know life is still keeping a sense of humor through all this

[–] Washedupcynic@lemmy.ca 4 points 3 months ago

It's like RAAAAYYYIIIIAAAAIIIN on your wedding day!

[–] TropicalDingdong@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Don't ya think? A little too ironic...

[–] 0x0@lemmy.zip 2 points 3 months ago

...and yeah they really don't think.

[–] DragonAce@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago

Its down right poetic.

[–] altphoto@lemmy.today 2 points 3 months ago

The berders are not doing their job! Will covfefe step forward and try?

[–] MedicPigBabySaver@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago

Ha, losers.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today -2 points 3 months ago

"Died to?" Unusual syntax.
