Christians, please explain to me how this could possibly not be blasphemy.

Trump is the antichrist matching every single depiction on revelations at this point.

He's a manufactured Antichrist. The crazys are tired of waiting and are custom building their own rapture. The similarities are not an accident.

Well a bunch of Christians literally want to live through the rapture. Not like, "maybe in 30 years". They want it asap and look for every possibility. Why not choose the antichrist to speedrun it?

[–] phx@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago

And where - if they're supporting a PoS like this - do they expect to be going during said rapture?

I'm pretty sure "I supported the Antichrist and his friendly corporations in ending the world, but I confess to Jeebus and feel really sorry" isn't going to be a valid argument for entry into the pearly gates...

The response I've seen is blah blah "imperfect vessel" [Armageddon]

At this point I don't think they have conscious thoughts about it, instead going immediately going into excuse mode.

In this case, they're saying he's not portraying himself as Jesus but one of his disciples. Which is not at all true but that's TDS for you.

Edit: apparently he's saying its him as a doctor. Fucking hell its hard to stay up to date on this bullshit.

he's saying it's him as a doctor

And Vance said it was just a joke and people don't get his humor.

Evangelicals now have two excuses to choose from. Truly an embarrassment of riches.

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 1 week ago

Because he's a doctor, not Jesus!

Also, it's just a joke!

Both of these are somehow true at the same time but don't question it!

Is this the healthcare plan we've been waiting for?

[–] i_stole_ur_taco@lemmy.ca 5 points 1 week ago

It’s the concepts of said plan we were promised.

Is there no end to the heresy of these tools of the antichrist, so to speak. Disgraceful that any self described christian would support these pieces of shit.

[–] Visstix@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago

No he doesn't

Not "exactly like" to me but my first thought it was an uncanny resemblance to Mr. Epstein that I thought this was what the AI that the Trump admin had slop this out was going for.

He looks more like William Dafoe.

Not really, but there is a pretty funny parody version out there.
