Welcome to the News community!

Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.

5. Only recent news is allowed.

Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.

6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

Every day when I wake up, the first thing is to check my phone if that fucker's dead yet.

[–] Boiglenoight@lemmy.world 73 points 5 days ago (5 children)

I think you just explained why I do this. I thought I had just developed an addiction to the news over the past six months, but this hit me.

And many many more..

Edit: not saying that I actively check all these, I'm saying that these are (mostly) other prime examples of people whose demise will likely noticeably benefit humanity as a whole.

Is the Tom Hanks thing a joke or do I not know something

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.dbzer0.com 16 points 5 days ago

"Yes" to the former, "probably" to the latter 🤷🏻

Has he considered the ratings he'd get with a death announcement though? They'd be like no one has ever seen. Bigly.

[–] OwOarchist@pawb.social 71 points 5 days ago (9 children)

If they make a death announcement and then he shows up on TV again in 3 days, it will really feed into his base thinking he's literally Jesus.

[–] billwashere@lemmy.world 36 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Please don’t give them any ideas….

Maybe people around the world should celebrate his death, even though he’s alive, just so he can see how many people hate him.

[–] SheepHerder@lemmy.world 20 points 5 days ago (4 children)

Are the No Kings protests not enough?

[–] Tilgare@lemmy.world 27 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Is there really a limit for how much hate he deserves?

What would you say is the percentage of people on this planet waiting to see him finally die, something like 98%?

[–] 8oow3291d@feddit.dk 23 points 4 days ago (4 children)

Russia thinks the Trump Presidency is amazing for them. First Trump cuts support for Ukraine, then Trump blames Ukraine for keeping the war going by dastardly not surrendering to Russia. And now Trump is raising global oil proces, radically increasing the income of the Russian state. All while delegitimizing the US.

China probably cheers on the weakening of US power too. And US Republicans also overwhelmingly supports Trump, for reasons known only to them.

So if you add up Russia and China (enemies of America) and Republicans (but I repeat myself), way less than 98% of people wants Trump dead.

Don't forget wasting all our missiles and munitions in Iran so we won't have a stockpile when we or one of our actual allies gets attacked.

Bah. You'll know he's actually dead when it shows up on Polymarket.

[–] TigerAce@lemmy.dbzer0.com 40 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago)

There has never been a President who has worked harder for the American people than President Trump. On this Easter weekend, he has been working nonstop in the White House and Oval Office.

If you count warcrimes, white collar crimes and golf as work, then sure. But for the American people, not so much. Everything he does is for his criminal enterprise.

But pleeeeeaaaaase don't be dead Donny. JD is so much worse.

[–] dhork@lemmy.world 63 points 5 days ago (5 children)

Watch that asshole make an appearance tomorrow and his idiot followers will call it proof that he is the Second Coming of Christ....

[–] saltesc@lemmy.world 36 points 5 days ago (5 children)

I still don't get how they don't see the Antichrist comparisons. Though their Bible—which they know fuck all about—covers the Antichrist idiots being easily deceived too.

[–] dhork@lemmy.world 18 points 5 days ago (1 children)

I actually have a theory about that. Regardless of whether you believe that the Bible is divinely inspired or not, clearly its authors knew a lot about human nature.

Humans haven't changed much in 2000 years. Narcissistic assholes existed then, they exist today. Some scholars think that the authors were really describing Emperor Nero. It's not a stretch to think that a description of Nero back then might sound a lot like Trump today.

Keep in mind that the Daily Mirror is a dubiously reliable British tabloid and extremely eager to sensationalize any crumbs they can get. Also keep in mind that baseless social media rumors are extremely easy to start when people want them to be true.

In this case, "forced to deny US president death and hospital rumors" means (per their own article):

Trump's personal spokesman, Steven Cheung, posted on X: "There has never been a President who has worked harder for the American people than President Trump. On this Easter weekend, he has been working nonstop in the White House and Oval Office. God Bless him."

It would be actually hilarious if this antichrist-type dies on Easter weekend, but I don't have my hopes up more than any other day.

[–] green_goglin@thelemmy.club 23 points 5 days ago

I want to believe

[–] Wispy2891@lemmy.world 13 points 4 days ago

Pope Francis, after meeting JD Vance, died the day after Easter in 2025.

It would be infinitely funny if someone else, after meeting with JD Vance, would die the day after Easter 2026 too.

[–] atropa@piefed.social 21 points 5 days ago (1 children)

It is an exercise, for the big moment that everyone on planet earth is waiting for, the end of a dictator, criminal trump

[–] merdaverse@lemmy.zip 12 points 4 days ago (7 children)

If Trump dies, Vance takes over and he might be even worse. The point is to oppose the system that created Trump, not this particular figurehead, which can always be replaced.

Given how truthful the White House press secretaries have been under Trump, that means he's dead. YAY!

[–] OwOarchist@pawb.social 28 points 5 days ago (6 children)

When he actually does croak, I wonder how long they'll hide it and what lengths they'll go to in order to keep it a secret...

Quit with this Weekend at Bernie’s crap. Just die, please. Lots of real estate for you in Hell.

I'm gonna be pissed if this son of a bitch happens to die when I can't have alcohol. Come on man, go into a coma for two weeks then die so I can pop a bottle properly

[–] echodot@feddit.uk 16 points 5 days ago (2 children)

You're probably ok because they're going to Weekend at Bernie's him for a while while he trying to figure out what they're going to do.

Wild to see the united states lich project coming to fruition in our lifetime. Or their omegaverse project backfiring and the president (an omega) going into heat for the second time, forcing another coverup.
