Can easily be tested. Just crucify him on Friday, and check whether he left the grave on Sunday.

[–] Etterra@discuss.online 1 points 13 minutes ago

The Antichrist checklist just keeps filling up. Good thing I don't believe in that shit. Apparently the evangelicals don't either.

[–] capt_wolf@lemmy.world 8 points 1 hour ago

Cool, so we'll be parading him through DC, nailing him to a cross, and jamming a spear in him later today then, right?

[–] asg101@lemmy.blahaj.zone 22 points 6 hours ago (2 children)

Which girl would Jesus rape?

[–] titanicx@lemmy.zip 5 points 6 hours ago

Apparently if he's like a lot of the religious nut jobs, any underage ones.

[–] DerisionConsulting@lemmy.ca 1 points 5 hours ago

I think this is the best I can do, but I am obviously taking things out of context, and omitting things in the middle.

Mathew 19, half of verse 13, and verse 15:
Then people brought little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them... ....When he had placed his hands on them, he went on from there

[–] theacharnian@lemmy.ca 12 points 5 hours ago (4 children)

If I were an Evangelical Christian, I would be screaming my lungs out that this is Antichrist territory.

[–] uberfreeza@lemmy.world 1 points 23 minutes ago

I personally know someone that cited the bible to demonstrate how Trump was the antichrist. Yes, he sure did still vote for him, because the antichrist is better than a democrat.

[–] nomy@lemmy.zip 10 points 5 hours ago

A good chunk of them believe the Antichrist has to appear to Herald the end of days and they're 100% on board. It's a death cult.

[–] some_kind_of_guy@lemmy.world 3 points 5 hours ago* (last edited 5 hours ago)

Maybe if you were Catholic, Episcopal, Unitarian, Christian Anarchist, etc. you would hold that view. Evangelicals live in an upside-down world and don't even consider the aforementioned denominations as Christians. If you openly held that view in an Evangelical congregation I would worry for your safety.

[–] SnarkoPolo@lemmy.world 2 points 5 hours ago

And when he steals a third and fourth term, they'll all be with him 110%

The beatification of Trump shouldn't come as a surprise. During his four years in the Liberal Wilderness (you have to start building the mythology), there was a concerted effort to transform him into a Christian Prophet, which the media almost entirely ignored.

During the Biden years, Traitor General Michael Flynn organized a traveling road show of conservative/ evangelical speakers, called the ReAwaken America Tour, which I thought was a bizarre title, since that would make America "Woke," right? Anyway, I digress.

This tour featured speakers extolling the virtues of MAGA and White Christian Nationalism, with the common thread establishing Trump's religious plausibility. All of the MAGA All-Stars appeared at one time or another, but his daughter-in-law Lara, who he wasn't particularly fond of, was a regular. Her standard speech claimed that she was in direct daily contact with God himself, and he had explicitly told her that Trump was his chosen emissary to lead America into its White Christian Nationalist Future. She claims that God TOLD her that Trump was his personally anointed prophet, like Jesus himself.

If you're wondering what Trump thought about that, he later rewarded her with the co-chair of the RNC.

They basically were trying to establish him as a credible religious figure, the way the Apprentice established the myth of him being as a successful businessman. That was their post-Presidential plan, and if he hadn't won the presidency again, Plan B was creating a religion, and it looks like they're starting to dust off that plan again, in case he is forced to leave office in 2028.

The pivot to religion makes perfect sense. A political position can beg for money, but it is heavily regulated. A religion can beg for money from anyone, with no limits on amounts, sources, etc. Not only can they take whatever they want, from anyone they wanted, from anywhere they want, it's tax-exempt, and there are no requirement a to report ANYTHING, from donations to expenditures. It's the perfect operation for a money launderer, which has been Trump's primary business for years.

So when he's out of office, and facing corruption charges from every direction, expect them to play him as a martyr, being persecuted by the ANTIFA Atheists, comparing Trump to Jesus, and the judge to Pontius Pilate, in an attempt to intimidate the prosecution. You wouldn't prosecute JESUS would you?

[–] Raiderkev@lemmy.world 8 points 6 hours ago

So Jesus liked to bomb and fuck kids right?

[–] DragonAce@lemmy.world 20 points 8 hours ago* (last edited 8 hours ago) (1 children)

Good fucking grief. WTF do these people see in this guy that makes them want to suck up to him so badly? Hes a malignant narcissist sociopath piece of shit and is more closely related to the antichrist than anything else.

[–] Angrydeuce@lemmy.world 10 points 6 hours ago

His ideas about child rape really resonates with them.

[–] JensSpahnpasta@feddit.org 5 points 6 hours ago

Just imagine what would have happened if Obama's faith advisor did something like that.

[–] starman2112@sh.itjust.works 10 points 7 hours ago* (last edited 7 hours ago) (1 children)

You can now pray again, and worship again!

My favorite thing about Biden was how he banned prayer. That was really cool and based

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 9 points 7 hours ago* (last edited 7 hours ago)

Weird for a devout catholic, but I wasn't going to stop him

My bio teacher in high school was a hard-core snake-handling tongue-speaking nut. She was also the head of the Bible club.

Should have seen how quickly my As turned to Cs after I told her that despite her protestations, I wanted to learn about evolution and didn't belive in creationism.

Biology teacher in public school..."Evolution is a myth that the tyrannical federal government demands I teach but first let me read you the truth about what really happened: 'In the beginning, God created...'"

My favorite was when she gave me detention for admitting I was an atheist, after she called my mom and my mom said "So what?". Guess she thought I was gonna get a holy beat down, imagine her disappointment.

[–] Gates9@sh.itjust.works 3 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

Depending on where this took place she was definitely playing the odds on you getting beaten. Bless her heart.

[–] Angrydeuce@lemmy.world 2 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

I was 15, and it was the first time in my life that I saw someones attitude towards me completely change due to the mere fact that I didnt share their religious beliefs. First time, but sadly not the last.

How fucking fragile their beliefs must truly be if they cant even tolerate someone thinking differently than they do like, as a concept, to the point of acting like a total fucking bitch to a child from that day forward.

But...after decades more life experience...all I can say is pretty much par for the course.

Thank christ I got the fuck out of the Bible belt. I no longer live somewhere were institutionalized bigotry is so widely accepted. Like, for example, the time I was threatened with physical violence by a cop after being spotted walking home from the gas station with a Marilyn Manson tshirt only a few months after my Bio teacher crashed out when confronted with my atheism.

[–] Gates9@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 hour ago

Haha some parent had a spectacular meltdown at my school the day after Columbine because my friend was wearing a MM shirt. Fuck these people they’re the same in every generation. They got a disease.

[–] TwilitSky@lemmy.world 3 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

People are laughing but that's a direct verbatim quote.

[–] Gates9@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 hour ago* (last edited 1 hour ago)

I took several minutes of my life to transcribe that as precisely as possible

[–] Lushed_Lungfish@lemmy.ca 11 points 9 hours ago

Oh good! Let's continue the comparison and nail the orange shit to a piece of wood!

[–] TigerAce@lemmy.dbzer0.com 15 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

Oh that's strange, I compare him to Hitler. Except Hitler didn't sexually abuse children.

[–] Lushed_Lungfish@lemmy.ca 7 points 9 hours ago

With the possible exception of his niece.

[–] NottaLottaOcelot@lemmy.ca 24 points 11 hours ago

Trump is not a political figure. This is a religious movement playing out in real time.

[–] TryingToBeGood@reddthat.com 21 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

What is actually wrong with these people?

[–] TigerAce@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 10 hours ago

So, so much, I don't know where to start.

[–] humanspiral@lemmy.ca 2 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

Palm sunday was a few days ago. It will be close enough to prophesy if he's crucified soon enough. It's not assassination if zombie Trump is destined to come alive and get ascended. It's faith in god all mighty to crucify him. Don't question faith.

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 2 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

there are protocols for shit like this. you draw, quarter, burn, desecrate, burn again, then give the remains to the post office to scatter to its all branches around the world to monitor for signs of zombification and vampirification.

that's what happens when you fuck with the post office. at least we used to do it, back when we had standards.

[–] humanspiral@lemmy.ca 1 points 4 hours ago

Trump is Jesus. It's ok if they try to water the corpse if they think it will help make zombie Trump rise. Just do the crucifixion part, already. Even if they try the weekend at Bernies plot, just crucify. It will all work out.

[–] cosmicrookie@lemmy.world 35 points 13 hours ago (9 children)

When he at some point dies, i am sure that some people will be waiting for him on the third day to come back

[–] ClownStatue@piefed.social 11 points 10 hours ago (4 children)

I cannot wait for those inevitable crazy-assed news stories. His presidential funeral will bring out the craziest of the crazies. Someone will probably be killed for not showing the appropriate sympathy (probably me, who has already ordered a T-shirt with his quote about Robert Muller on it). Then, they will have to have police outside his compound as his followers await his second coming. It’s going to be prime TV, and the world will see how utterly crazy much of the US still is.

If Trump isn't roleplaying the Antichrist from the Book of Revelation, then I don't know what he's doing.

lmao. Jesus, if he existed (debatable), gave fucks about people. Trump cares about no one but himself.

I’m all for him being compared with Jesus during Easter, just another pathway to his likeness being eligible on their currency.

[–] HootinNHollerin@lemmy.dbzer0.com 44 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

When’s the crucifixion? Will it be live streamed?

[–] StealthLizardDrop@piefed.social 13 points 13 hours ago (3 children)

I am not convinced we can find a cross that is able to bear his weight

[–] Stupidmanager@lemmy.world 1 points 1 hour ago

Look, Americans aren’t good for much but we sure can build shit to hold our ever growing bodies. It might break after a few days but that fat orange diaper wearing fuck is going to die just fine on an American cross.

If Trump was Jesus, the Romans would have been 100% correct to do ALL the things. There are few creatures more odious than Trump.
