[–] Natanael@slrpnk.net 26 points 3 months ago (1 children)

"some"

It will measure on the seismometers

[–] MrVilliam@sh.itjust.works 15 points 3 months ago (1 children)

When fireworks go off, most people wonder if they're hearing gunshots; I just wonder if it's finally happened.

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 4 points 3 months ago

if you're going to fire, fire into the ground not the air. or get some blanks for the occasion

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 11 points 3 months ago

shit when he lost the election in 2020 we were literally dancing in the street. like all day. even at the recycling. i remember going to the grocery and we were all dancing in the parking lot it was a day.

[–] PalmTreeIsBestTree@lemmy.world 5 points 3 months ago

It’ll be like at the end of ROTJ

[–] criss_cross@lemmy.world 4 points 3 months ago

I for one will call off work and take to the streets.

Trump wants to live on forever, wants his name to last through the ages. His name will last, but it will be in a horrible context. I guess that's one way to acheive immortality

[–] cybervseas@lemmy.world 9 points 3 months ago

Can't spell infamy without… famy…?

[–] Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works 4 points 3 months ago

It won't last, honestly...

Look at Hitler. His name means less by the day, and generations of people have cursed it.

Fuck Hitler. Fuck Trump.

But some day... Literally in many of our lifetimes, people will say "Who the fuck is Donald Trump?"

We will tell them of the time millions of people were duped by an idiot. We will explain how dumb these folks were. And we will move on...

His ballroom will be gone by then. His tower, renamed. His children will be nobodies. His legacy will be millions of people wanting to shit on his grave, and taxpayers angry about the countless goons preventing this.

Some day... Some day soon. I hope we will win the right to shit on his grave. This is America.

I'm a nobody. Maybe I'll run for office some day on the right to shit on this guy's grave. When they kill me, just know... I don't regret it. This is America. Fuck the "kings". Shit on their fucking grave.

[–] frustrated_phagocytosis@fedia.io 16 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I don't celebrate 4th of July or any other so-called patriotic holidays. I will celebrate the shit out of Ding Dong the Dumbass is Dead Day.

[–] WanderWisley@lemmy.world 8 points 3 months ago (1 children)

When Donny dies I will consider it to be the 2nd Independence Day for America and most of the world.

Most anticipated obituary of the century.

[–] ArgumentativeMonotheist@lemmy.world 14 points 3 months ago (3 children)

Sadly, I don't think it'll take "the right" that much time to find a new Trump. The American white supremacist masses yearn for a leader that approves of and shares in their behaviour. Things haven't changed much since the days of their native-genociding ancestors, at least not in their hearts.

[–] IAmNorRealTakeYourMeds@lemmy.world 10 points 3 months ago (4 children)

trump is a useful puppet, he is senile and easily manipulated. everyone around him has learned to take advantage if him. Mamdani just gave him a fake newspaper and he got so many concessions. he's an extremely useful tool for the rich

I don’t think it’ll take “the right” that much time to find a new Trump.

Nah, the benefit is that they'll all be fighting with each other in their attempts to be the next Trump, and in the process they'll fracture and weaken their party.

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago

honestly that is when stephen colbert should reawaken his steve eagleson (idk i didn't really pay attention) persona. i think it's possible they political stricture would coalesce around him and we could make them do the funniest things

[–] militaryintelligence@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago

Yep. All they have to do is be racist bigots

[–] Eat_Your_Paisley@lemmy.world 11 points 3 months ago (1 children)

My grandfather had a Kennedy’s dead party, I’ll throw a Trump is dead party when it happens.

[–] islandcoda42@lemmy.zip 10 points 3 months ago

Nothing will grow above him for a thousand miles in every direction. Pure poison.

[–] NottaLottaOcelot@lemmy.ca 10 points 3 months ago (2 children)

Sometimes I wonder if the Republican Party will keep chugging along with an AI generated Trump for a few years after he croaks.

Nobody else seems to have his weird appeal and ability to let stupid statements roll off his back. In the hands of anyone else, this administration should have been overthrown as a clan of self-interested moronic tyrants. And yet with Trump, somehow middle America cheers on their own money being taken from their pockets.

I have little doubt that you could generate a bunch of asinine tweets and videos and use an obese body double on a golf course while they try to find someone else who makes Americans celebrate their own demise.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 8 points 3 months ago (2 children)

MAGA is a classic Cult of Personality, and Trump's death will be the end. Like all Dictators, he won't name a successor because he doesn't want to give any power to anyone else, so he'll let Rubio and Vance fight it out for his own entertainment.

Meanwhile there are a bunch of MAGA losers entertaining the fantasy of taking over MAGA when Trump dies. Guys like Don Jr. You don't think he feels like he's ENTITLED to succeed his father to the throne? Or Hegseth? Or Lindsey Graham? Or DeSantis? Or Abbot? Or Tucker Carlson?

When Trump assumes room temperature, the knives are going to come out, and the backstabbing will begin. It will be glorious.

I have a few theories on what will happen after Trump is dead. My first theory is that most of his followers will go full Waco or Jonestown and drink the Kool-Aid. Or we could end up with a Dalai Lama situation where they believe his spirit is in the body of a Someone else the leading to arise of fake charlatans, such as with Megachurch pastors. And my final theory is that they won’t believe that he is dead and it will be similar to how people still say they see Elvis or spot Bigfoot in the woods.

[–] NottaLottaOcelot@lemmy.ca 6 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I think your third theory will definitely happen. It seems to be a cultural obsession to believe that their heroes are still out there hiding from the spotlight.

Theory number two is quite plausible too. A second coming of Trump could certainly happen. It terrifies me that thousands of years from now, he could get exalted enough that he is discussed like a messiah.

Theory one is a bit further fetched, but maybe a handful of nutters?

The Q MAGA branch is going to say that he's still alive, while blaming Liberals for his murder, even if he croaked while giving a speech on live TV.

[–] Reygle@lemmy.world 10 points 3 months ago

Needs more streams of steaming piss draining down in to the dirt

[–] morto@piefed.social 7 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

I fear that current right wing movements might have a strong ideology behind in their supporters base, and not be just a cult of personality, so they might be unaffected by their leaders' deaths. This is a thought that haunts me, because if true, things will be like that for all my life

[–] TrickDacy@lemmy.world 7 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Fuck yes. I think about this multiple times every day. I'm so fed up with hearing about him and talking about him. Fuck this human garbage.

[–] WanderWisley@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago

Most definitely, calling this thing a human is an insult to all humanity. Calling him a monster is an insult to all monsters.

[–] Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works 6 points 3 months ago

This made me laugh out loud in the dead of night.

Thank you.

[–] toiletobserver@lemmy.world 5 points 3 months ago

Ozymandias is calling

[–] melsaskca@lemmy.ca 5 points 3 months ago

I'm sure it'll be discovered soon after his death that he gave Kevin Macalister wrong directions. /s

[–] Generica@lemmy.world 5 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I'm torn. Sure, I want him dead but I also want him to suffer. Hopefully karma will gift him a big fat strong angry black woman to be his abusive home health aid 🤞

they will keep the grift alive as long as possible to placate the rubes, much like with KIRK.

[–] Rozauhtuno@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 3 months ago

The most delulus of them are going to turn it into a religious thing altogether.

[–] Zugyuk@lemmy.world 4 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I Google about it every couple days, just to check.

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 5 points 3 months ago

both ishedead dot com and ishedeadyet dot com are available, although ishedeadyet dot com is asking extortionate rates

[–] Mulligrubs@lemmy.world 4 points 3 months ago

He's been a part of my life since I learned how to read.

I've hated him for over 30 years, I think he will outlive me. I wait for death

Buy your champagne early! There will be shortages...

[–] WanderWisley@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago

A welcomed shortage 🍾

[–] Endymion_Mallorn@kbin.melroy.org 4 points 3 months ago

Don't tease me.

[–] RestlessNotions@sh.itjust.works 3 points 3 months ago

Man, don't get my hopes up!

[–] deacon@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago

Sometimes I’ll hear a bunch of cars start honking in what sounds to me like a spontaneous joyful chorus as everyone gets the same news bulletin, and for just a second I allow myself to hope.

Then I remind myself that I live near a busy intersection and hardly anyone listens to the radio anymore, old man.

[–] RockBottom@feddit.org 3 points 3 months ago

That’s the thing with narcissists.
