Wasn't he also apparently like "days away" from turning on Israel or something too supposedly?
Other way around. He just flipped on Israel and finally started calling them out shortly before his death.
Had he actually flipped? I thought he was still doing the whole "tepid criticism that doesn't actually meaningfully change the underlying position" song and dance. I could be wrong though, I can't keep the lore for these fuckers straight in my head at all.
He hadn't actually flipped publicly. He just let Tucker Carlson and Dave Smith wreck Ben Shapiro and Josh hammer in front of huge audiences. There's also reports/rumors that he reached out to Trump against going to war with Iran.

Tucker said Charlie told Trump not to bomb Iran the first time. He personally thought it was justified but he saw himself as the voice of young Republicans and they didn't want another war.
