And it's always the same, AI-slop looking ad. I don't even know if I have sleep apnea, I just snore really loud sometimes cuz of my sinus issues.

Sleep apnea and bukake are linked? No wonder...

[–] GreenKnight23@lemmy.world 2 points 1 hour ago

two and a half decades into the 21st century and you're browsing without an ad blocker?

[–] blackbrook@mander.xyz 3 points 2 hours ago

I feel like your Norwegian lesson is a subtle ad too.

[–] Tattorack@lemmy.world 4 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

You get ads? I thought we were smarter than this on Lemmy.

[–] Lemminary@lemmy.world 1 points 2 hours ago

Some of us are still getting up to speed.

Sleep apnea is obviously cured by rigorous bukkake.

You use Google Chrome don't you?

TBH I still cannot believe there are people using the internet without ad block in 2026

As long as they are used to spread malware, they are a cybersecurity risk as well.

Fun fact: it is trivially easy and costs $0 to track an individual through their ad identifier. They're not supposed to uniquely identify people, but you really just have to drill down like a dozen or so variables and you'll uniquely identify just about anyone with a smart phone.

Hey, random person for whom this describes, are you

-Aged 30-34 -White -Male -Educated -Spends a lot of time near you work address -Spends a lot of time near you home address -Spends some time where you vacation the exact time you usually vacation there -Is a 49ers fan -Likes artisanal coffee -Android user -Listens to late 90s and early 00s metal -Wears pants size 38/32.

Guess what there's like 3 of you in the world. And we can get all 3 ad ids in the real time bidding market and track all 3 of you until we deduce which one is you.

Now I know where any person for whom I perform these steps is located, basically in real time.

It's that bad. It's a well known issue with I guess too much money behind it to fix? Idk.

I put it back on and it's working, thanks for reminding me

[–] PP_BOY_@lemmy.world 27 points 8 hours ago (2 children)

Dont worry, I will always be the snarky asshole who talks down to people for not being like me any chance I get

[–] BeckyStjerne@nord.pub 14 points 9 hours ago

Fair, I used it for the site but it kept not playing the audio

[–] Thaurin@lemmy.world 7 points 8 hours ago

I think most people on the internet don’t even know what a browser extension is. Most people are not very interested in customizing or tweaking their computer beyond “push this button, stuff I want comes out.”

[–] barzaria@lemmy.world 14 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

This really is the correct answer. I also beg you to install Ublock origin.

[–] ZoteTheMighty@lemmy.zip 3 points 5 hours ago (2 children)

I too choose this guy's uBlock Origin.

[–] toynbee@piefed.social 2 points 2 hours ago

Dude, that's ... A reference.

[–] Janx@piefed.social 3 points 3 hours ago

And my uBlock Origin.

[–] Valmond@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

And ghostery if you want to avoid the cookie popups (auto denies).

[–] mic_check_one_two@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 4 hours ago* (last edited 4 hours ago)

Ghostery was involved in some weird info-selling controversy, weren’t they?

Edit: I looked it up. Yup, they were selling info about the trackers they blocked to the tracking companies they were blocking. So those companies could then figure out how Ghostery was blocking them, and circumvent it.

Apparently after that, they had another controversy where they started inserting ads to show to their users. Somehow that feels even worse, because the users who had it installed were trying to avoid things exactly like that.

Someone came so hard on that AI woman's face that her skin melted straight off.

[–] Bloomcole@lemmy.world 1 points 2 hours ago

Too much pineapple.

[–] CanadaPlus@lemmy.sdf.org 2 points 4 hours ago* (last edited 4 hours ago)

Now tell the AI to generate one weird trick and the the doctors that don't want us to know about it.

technically it can't be sleep apnea unless it comes from the Apnea Mountains in the Maldives. otherwise it's just sparkling sleep deprivation.
