I use chrome and there's working adblockers (ublock origin lite works fine).
Someone came so hard on that AI woman's face that her skin melted straight off.

Seriously, it's not just annoying, it's a big privacy issue.
Fun fact: it is trivially easy and costs $0 to track an individual through their ad identifier. They're not supposed to uniquely identify people, but you really just have to drill down like a dozen or so variables and you'll uniquely identify just about anyone with a smart phone.

Guess what there's like 3 of you in the world. And we can get all 3 ad ids in the real time bidding market and track all 3 of you until we deduce which one is you.
Now I know where any person for whom I perform these steps is located, basically in real time.

I think most people on the internet don’t even know what a browser extension is. Most people are not very interested in customizing or tweaking their computer beyond “push this button, stuff I want comes out.”
And ghostery if you want to avoid the cookie popups (auto denies).
Ghostery was involved in some weird info-selling controversy, weren’t they?
Edit: I looked it up. Yup, they were selling info about the trackers they blocked to the tracking companies they were blocking. So those companies could then figure out how Ghostery was blocking them, and circumvent it.
Apparently after that, they had another controversy where they started inserting ads to show to their users. Somehow that feels even worse, because the users who had it installed were trying to avoid things exactly like that.
This really is the correct answer. I also beg you to install Ublock origin.
