This isn't going away, and I sure hope the GOP doesn't change tack.

[–] IratePirate@feddit.org 2 points 40 minutes ago

So... People don't believe that Operation Epstein Fury is not about aiding the Iranian people topple the mullah regime? Bummer!

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 7 points 2 hours ago

Occasionally, the majority of Americans get it right.

[–] NewDark@lemmy.today 11 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

Key word here is partially.

Was it a factor? Absolutely.

Was it the main consideration? Could be, but that's far less certain.

[–] IratePirate@feddit.org 1 points 1 hour ago

Who knows which of the voices drives the orange shitgibbon at any given moment? And frankly: who cares any more? We know the voice of reason is not among them.

[–] Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works 12 points 5 hours ago

Okay. Hear me out.

It might be because that's exactly the case.

Turns out an old man raping kids really sticks in people's minds.

Not GOP people, but normal people who are moral.

[–] troybot@piefed.social 15 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

Does this make Epstein the modern day Franz Ferdinand?

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 1 points 2 hours ago

Do you think he sang "Take Me Out" to the prison warden? It seems more likely that it was done without him asking.

[–] hitstun@feddit.online 7 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

a bar chart from the linked article, showing a partisan split on whether Trump attacked Iran to distract from the Epstein files

Also, this:

Overwhelmingly, voters believe the war will make their lives worse. The survey was in the field before the wild volatility in the oil market, but even then, 49% of voters said the war “will make my life more difficult” compared to just 10% who said they’d see an improvement. One third said it would have no impact.

And of course the Magats suddenly stop believing the conspiracy theories when it's their fuhrer that is the in the middle of it all. Truly the R stands for retard.

[–] Mulligrubs@lemmy.world 57 points 13 hours ago

Hard to prove, because there's always at least one horrifying scandal ongoing, and there's always at least six USA "preemptive strikes" happening at any one time.

[–] eatCasserole@lemmy.world 42 points 13 hours ago (3 children)

At this point, why would they even care about the epstein files? No one's actually doing anything about it. If pedo's were getting [redacted] and they were afraid for their lives, this whole "distraction" narrative might make sense, but I have not seen an instance of someone suffering real consequences for being in the files. I would love to be wrong on that bit.

[–] givesomefucks@lemmy.world 28 points 13 hours ago* (last edited 13 hours ago) (2 children)

Because raping kids isn't the worst thing they could have been doing to kids...

As much as Mr "I could shoot someone on 5th ave" thinks he could get away with, he's terrified about the Epstein files being released.

It's some fucked up weird shit in there. Shit that would make anyone hate him.

[–] dizzle18@lemmy.zip 21 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

That’s what’s genuinely unsettling about the files. He’s terrified of what’s in there, and I seriously don’t think it’s because of the child rape. This is the asshole who has openly talked about walking into the dressing room of Ms. Teen USA while they were all undressed. He doesn’t give a flying fuck if people know that he raped a kid. There’s some other shit in those files that completely scares the shit out of him if it saw the light of day. I have my ideas as to what it could be, but something tells me my imagination isn’t nearly fucked up enough…

[–] grimpy@lemmy.myserv.one 1 points 11 hours ago

there’s plenty of other extremely valid reasons to despise D the John

[–] Bluescluestoothpaste@sh.itjust.works 18 points 13 hours ago (3 children)

It's the elections, trumps poll numbers finally started tanking so he bombed iran to raise support.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 2 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

He's desperately looking for pretexts to rig or completely cancel the 2026 election.

[–] Jaysyn@lemmy.world 1 points 3 minutes ago

That's simply not going to happen. We had an election during the Civil War, FFS.

[–] eatCasserole@lemmy.world 5 points 8 hours ago

The idiot was calling himself the "peace president" and anyone dumb enough to buy that is probably not thrilled about another war. And anyone smart enough to see through his nonsense wasn't going to vote for him anyway.

There are some spectacularly incompetent morons in this administration, but I think even they could figure out that starting a war with Iran wasn't going to win people over.

[–] 4am@lemmy.zip 11 points 11 hours ago

He held a rally today where instead of signs about deportation, the audience was holding “bigger paychecks” signs

OH suddenly we’re running on affordability? I thought that was a Democrat hoax!

Also, destroying the world’s economy and killing innocent schoolgirls is a choice.

Although it’s odd how he had to be like “I hurt American girls but look I hurt Iranian girls MORE so you love me again” and they all sucked his fucked up little knob

[–] i_am_not_a_robot@discuss.tchncs.de 6 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

The Epstein files are the distraction. The United States government, particularly but not exclusively Trump and his appointees, is committing a new crime every week but everyone keeps going back to the probable suspicion that Trump was involved in the sexual abuse of minors years ago. There is no way that Trump will be removed from office because of the Epstein files when the Department of Justice is running an illegal coverup for him. Complaining that the DOJ is withholding files that probably exist about something that Trump probably did is too abstract for anything to happen in Congress. Get them out for the recent crimes that aren't just probablies first and then talk about the Epstein files when over half of the government isn't trying to cover them up.

[–] eatCasserole@lemmy.world 1 points 8 hours ago

Yeah this angle makes way more sense.

[–] AlexLost@lemmy.world 7 points 10 hours ago

It's because he did that they think that. He also is a crazy psycho ruled by a shadow government behind the scenes.

[–] wirebeads@lemmy.ca 18 points 13 hours ago

I mean Lindsay Ladybug Graham just stated yesterday that he’s stands with Israel above all else. Well done voters, well fucking done.

These fucking weak minded yanks are absolutely beyond fucked at this point.

Good luck spreading your military across the planet you child raping pieces of shit. This is how your empire will fall, but enjoy sending your sons and daughters to a modern day hamburger hill because you think being American is the best thing and will follow whatever your pedo pres and bourbon drinking sec of war tell you to do. Anything to protect their innocence I guess. Your life is a willing sacrifice. Maybe he’ll wear a ball cap at your kids transfer ceremony.

I look forward to hearing the death of Trump and hopefully the rest of the cabinet.

Every. Single. Fucking. One. Of. Them.

America is Israel’s little bitch, and to the mod of this sub, criticizing Israel isn’t antisemitic! You need to learn that meaning before you delete comments based on your lack of understanding.

[–] Eternal192@anarchist.nexus 21 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

"is Trump more responsive to the American people or Israel" why the fuck is that even a question!! Trump would gladly massacre every American if it would please his master and you better fucking believe it, the only reason they haven't is because they need meat to throw at Iran, Palestine, Venezuela and everyone else that dares to get in their way!

[–] dynamoMaus@feddit.org 1 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

What are you talking about, when saying

if it would please his master

[–] xerxes@piefed.social 3 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

I assume either Netanyahu or Miriam Adelson.

[–] dynamoMaus@feddit.org -1 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

I do not understand why those would be the masters.

Sounds like some bullshit a la "Jews control the world in the back".

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 2 points 2 hours ago

A more measured and less antisemitic way of stating it is that the Likud-led Israeli apartheid state has far more influence over American politics that is appropriate for a county of its size. Especially when it is committing crimes against humanity.

[–] wookiepedia@lemmy.world 1 points 8 hours ago

NEW POLL: Majority of Americans Believe Water is Wet

[–] xerxes@piefed.social 2 points 12 hours ago

I don't know, I personally think he did it to please Israel (either by carrot or stick).

This reminds me of the president who started a fake war in Albania because he sexually assaulted a girl guide.

[–] fossilesque@mander.xyz 1 points 13 hours ago* (last edited 13 hours ago)

I'm not mad, at least they are looking in the right direction.

[–] Lucky_777@lemmy.world 1 points 13 hours ago* (last edited 13 hours ago) (1 children)

Could be, but the white house has already admitted they striked with Isreal. As we all know, the US government is a slave to Isreal money. So they all will bend over for them. I mean congress tried to pass a check on this war and Dems/GOP voted against it. Everyone taking Isreal money needs to be voted out or tried for treason

Israel started the war for the same reason pretty much. Netanyahu like trump has a lot of criminal accusations and trials he needs to delay. A lot of Israelis want him tried for corruption and the timing worked out with trumps problems.

[–] theuniqueone@lemmy.dbzer0.com -3 points 12 hours ago (4 children)

Tired of this statement it's false Iran is a continuation of American imperialism and world dominance with little to do with the Epstein files other than the fact of the same elite class being the cause of both.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 1 points 2 hours ago

That explains the act but not its timing.

[–] 4am@lemmy.zip 4 points 10 hours ago* (last edited 10 hours ago)

Reductivism. The American right has been groaning and foaming to take over Iran since oil’s usefulness was discovered. We made a WHOLE FAKE ASS “CHRISTIAN” RELIGION OVER IT. But they hadn’t managed to actually do it yet.

Trump has some shit to hide, and some people to keep on his side no matter what comes out. So he starts the mother of all wars, and all the bloodthirsty freaks who desire positions of power get their tiny dicks hard over the “force” we’re projecting. They think it makes us champions or something.

All of our names on this continent will be cursed if our species survives this. England should have sunk the Mayflower on its way out, and prevented all of this

You're right this run on sentence is a mess though to be fair i was writing on my phone while walking down a highway avoiding cars and only half paying attention to what i was writing.

[–] pivot_root@lemmy.world -1 points 11 hours ago

You do know that people can have multiple motives, right?
