Once again, people who pirate the shows end up with a better experience than legit customers. Tale as old as time digital media.
Be fair, it's not the digital media to blame, it's the DRM/rental business model. The MP3s I buy from bandcamp are perfectly safe alongside my other media.
It's not that it's digital media to blame, it just isn't something you can replicate very easily with physical media.
Physical media wins again.
It's all fun and games until you have to spend 3 actual days ripping 50 blu-ray disks to your media server.
Jokes on you, I'm into that shit.

Physical media degrades over time.
It's mostly, if not all, up on Paramount Plus, which sucks because the TV app is super slow and they can't keep track of my watch history.
Holy shit I thought I was the only one with watch history issues!! Its been behind on my watch history for months now!!!!! Nothing I watch is ever saved and its so fucking annoying
At least for me, I think I figured it out. If you skip the ad (Paramount show preview, or whatever plays at the beginning) sometimes the play/pause controls will be wrong. It's been a while since I've used it, but I'm thinking the progress bar is gone for how far into the episode you are. If that happens it's not saving your watch status. You have to stop the episode and restart it.
Someone else said it was a blocked domain on pihole.
When the app wouldn't save my watch history, I eventually found that I needed to unblock a domain in pi-hole to make it work. Are you using anything like that?

Comparing my whitelist to the suggestions I've found online, I can only come up with api2.branch.io, saa.paramountplus.com and tags.tiqcdn.com; I might have also deleted something from the blacklist. There's a few Paramount+ whitelists, like this one, that you could look at if none of those work.
