I invite you guys to do the same, and show these companies that filling their products with face scans is not the best idea.

This is true especially since they recently had a serious data breach, with possibly around 70.000 profiles exposed.

Now looking into Fluxer!

Good on you for leaving that mess!

Fluxer is very promising, but unfortunately it's a bit rough right now. Screensharing doesn't work, the server began to slow down from the influx of discord refugees, and overall it's all still rather buggy.

There is a major refactor that will be released at some point which will hopefully help, but until such time, you may want to give Movim a try, which has been in development much longer (since 2010). It doesn't require an email to create an account, and runs right in the browser so it's very quick to get into to test with a friend. The only downside is that it currently requires a chromium based browser (Chromium, Opera, or Vivaldi) to also stream an application's audio when screen sharing.

I'm also looking for alternatives for Discord bit so far I didn't find a good solution yet.

I looked at a few. So far fluxer actually looks like the best choice for me. It's basically discord in form and Funktion just without corporate trying to eff you over.

And https://movim.eu/ is a federated choice, allowing you to choose your provider, just like you do for your phone or emails.

Matrix is also a way to go, granted their VoIP leaves a little to be desired at present. https://matrix.org/

I've used it a lot and even heavily promoted it for a while, but no longer do, as it still does not work well enough for my liking. It all seems buggy in general.

well done. Even if they reverse course, let this be a lesson learned for platforms. I'm actually proud how people have reacted.

Might give a hand at my job to get something, anything, to run in place of discord. Can't delete the account before that

The data breach could have anything from 70k to 2.1M profiles exposed. 70k is discord's number and 2.1M the hacker's number.
