Basic Rules:

Revisionism — No downplaying or denying atrocities past and present. Calling Tankies shills, foreign/federal agents, or bots also falls under this rule. Extremists exist. They are real. Do not call them shills or fake users, as it handwaves their extremism.

Off-topic Discussion — Do not discuss unrelated topics to the point of derailing the thread. Stay focused on the direct content of the post, rather than engaging in arguments that lack mutual agreement.

Brigading/Trolling — If you're here because this community was linked in another thread, please refrain from maliciously voting, commenting, or manipulating the post in any way. This includes alt accounts. All votes are public, and if you are found to be brigading, you will be banned. Good-faith and honest communication is an exception.

Tankies can explain their views, but may be criticised or challenged for them. Any minor infraction of the rules may result in a warning and possibly a temporary ban.

You'll be warned if you're violating the instance and community rules. Continuing poor behaviour after being warned will result in a ban or removal of your comments. Bans typically last only 24 hours, but each subsequent infraction doubles the duration. Depending on the content, the ban time may be increased. You may request an unban at any time.

This is only slightly related to MoG, considering dbzer0 is largely a tankie-apologist instance that caters a tankie bar, and the thread only allows dbzer0 users to vote. This post here can serve as a neutral space ~~where dbzer0 users can interact with Feddit users~~, and since MoG is referenced in the thread quite often.

db0 was my home instance for over a year. I had all the genAI stuff blocked and hardly interacted with the home instance. I popped over to quokk.au a couple weeks ago to check out PieFed. I saw the discussion post for this de-federation and honestly felt disgusted. A day or so later I started seeing c/[Country]AIPAC or similar bullshit communities popping up. I'm anti-Zionist but the rabidness was a major red flag. Quokka might not be it either, yet, but the vibe over at db0 has grown toxic.

Yeah, I scrolled through the modlogs after seeing the de-fed post and realized how far the instance had strayed from their original message. Seeing half a dozen new communities pop up concerning AIPAC funding was just weird.

Also, the "Anarchist Flotilla" seemed kinda...lame? Not necessarily the concept; a novel method of organizing around a new structure like federated social media makes sense. Implementation, however...inventing a new 'tier of membership' for quokk.au seemed odd. I dunno, maybe I just haven't 'read enough theory.'

Anarchist.nexus is more or less the PieFed equivalent of db0 to my understanding. The flotilla concept was one of 'shared governance' and anarchist solidarity or something. Quokk.au was in discussions to join but wanted to maintain it's own de-fed list; IIRC Hexbear was the point of contention. An agreement was reached that admitted Quokk with certain caveats that just sounded like a hierarchy with extra steps.

I've had hexbear (and ml, and grad I think) blocked since early days and upon discovering db0 was not only federated with them but willing to gatekeep to remain so I jumped ship. I'm no anarchist nor particularly well-versed in their theory but I thought the whole point was to dismantle hierarchies? The "new membership tier" or whatever just reeked of incongruence and disingenuousness. Frankly its late and I find myself violently disinterested such that I'm unwilling to refresh my memory.

Lol when Draconic started drama in 196 about it, I got banned for "zionism" despite not having said anything Zionist.

Or was "I dont agree with Israelis being forceably removed from Israel" (claim mrdown make on a past post) zionist?

I believe Draonic may legitimately be antisemitic, or, in some sort of sunk-cost fallacy, perhaps unable to admit fault. I've previously called them out on using an antisemitic dog-whistle and requested they edit their comment, or I'll have to remove it.

Instead, they posted on YPTB, which, surprisingly, didn't work out, as users there questioned why they didn't go along with the edit. Instead of admitting fault that they may be stepping into antisemitism, they deleted the post and proceeded to go on this crusade.

Par for the norm for dbzer0, I guess. They are very antisemitic

I told them that it is not good to wish death on Israel or Palestine. Just because shitty people are in power, doesn't mean the populace has to suffer because of it. It doesn't matter which side.

Maybe they were just good at keeping on the mask, but it's a bit sad because I remember a year ago seeing most of db0 openly clowning on tankies whenever they showed up.

Now Unruffled seems to be pushing to make the whole instance explicitly tankie/campist.

All because we don't let them do as they like. Feddit is welcome to everybody who sticks to the rules. And the rules make it automatically difficult for people who follow hateful ideologies. I try my best to be fair to our community. Meanwhile certain dbzer0 users want us to ban people for simply believing Israel should exist, even if they are opposed to Netanyahu's regime and want settlers out of the West Bank.
