Well, I finally got sick enough of ads and forced subreddit recommendations to search for FOSS social media alternatives. Discovered Lemmy and then finally found Beehaw. Signed up, got approved, and just had my first session of scrolling. It feels amazing! I have the control over what I see that I've always wanted!
So, my week is going pretty good!

Starting a new job with only one day of training. It's an all you can eat sushi place and today is our soft opening. Wish me luuuck... Haha
Im normally back of house but I'm jumping back into the front of house, cause money. I had a stage last night and had the head chef tell me to take the server/bartender job instead of the kitchen job he was offering me. :-| I'll use the money i make to refine my cooking skills. I need a new silicone spatula, mine broke.

I’m getting over a cold, so not my favorite way to start the work week. I have been enjoying bothering the masses making a daily Askbeehaw.

Today I put some cocoa powder in my cup and then chucked it into the sink instead of adding milk. I'm sleep deprived.
Couple nights ago I baked red velvet cheesecake cupcakes with friends instead of attending class. No regrets. Been focusing on self care because of how burnt out I've been since last year.
I've noticed a lot of college students are doing two jobs now on top of full time school. Kids are also struggling more in tutoring sessions because they lack the understanding in basic concepts, like exponents... And of course there's more use in AI, so TAs complain about how no one is really putting effort into their assignments anymore.
Hanging on for summer so I can show off the tattoos I got over winter, and head off on holidays which are really needed.

I started the day yesterday feeling very sad. As I was going back and forth from my desk to a conference room trying to coordinate hearing/vision testing in the high school I work at, the front desk ladies' playlist had Sade's "Smooth Operator" going on and it made my day. I started dancing in the halls and the front desk ladies went "ayyyy, ayyyy, ayyy". You can do all things through "ayyyy" that strengthen you. I love working in a school.
