So they'll all be in one place?

As long as it leads them torwards a guillotine, I'm all in, I guess?

[–] deathbird@mander.xyz 13 points 6 days ago (1 children)

I'm greatly amused by the thought of a march that could not be more than 3,028 people.

[–] AnarchistArtificer@slrpnk.net 9 points 6 days ago

I feel like the target audience is "temporarily embarrassed [billionaires]"^[1]

That is, people who are not billionaires, but like to imagine themselves as having the ability to become one.

[1] the original quote that this is from uses "millionaires" but years of the upwards flow of wealth meant the quote needed some updating.

Financial obesity is an existential threat to any society that tolerates it, and needs to cease being celebrated, rewarded, and positioned as an aspirational goal.

Corporations are the only ‘persons’ which should be subjected to capital punishment, but billionaires should be euthanised through taxation.

Every healthy society needs a robust guillotine maintenance and repair workforce.

[–] WraithGear@lemmy.world 4 points 6 days ago

yes, put them all together in one place, in the open

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 1 points 5 days ago

Next they'll be having a pro-tapeworm march.

That's still not gonna get him that vc cash

[–] Rajtinka@lemmy.world 132 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Yes! Let's get the billionaires all in one place. I'm hungry!!

[–] TwodogsFighting@lemdro.id 18 points 1 week ago

Like 3 people will show up and they'll probably back the tax off anyway cause they were so polite and moving with their peaceful demonstration.

I sincerely hope I'm wrong.

[–] Flauschige_Lemmata@lemmy.world 25 points 1 week ago (1 children)

They might start a big grassroots movement. Artificially. You might call it a turfgrass movement. Maybe use a genericized brand name. That seems fitting

[–] anomnom@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 week ago

Another tea party, oh boy.

[–] saltesc@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago

Yes.

But it'll be the most extravagant protest ever. The who's who will be there. No doubt, down Rodeo Drive,. The lenses of every contributor to your feed algorithm. The best of ~~opinion pieces~~ journalism.

[–] kboos1@lemmy.world 32 points 1 week ago

So we can all line up to throw garbage at them? You know, return the favor.

[–] p03locke@lemmy.dbzer0.com 29 points 1 week ago (1 children)

That would involve billionaires showing up in a public protest.

[–] Zorque@lemmy.world 19 points 1 week ago

Nah, they pay people to do it, like in Mexico

[–] commie@lemmy.dbzer0.com 25 points 1 week ago (1 children)

perfect opportunity to become an actual paid protester

[–] wildncrazyguy138@fedia.io 13 points 1 week ago

Which chamber you plan on running in? House or senate?

[–] LavaPlanet@sh.itjust.works 25 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I don't think these rattle heads, actually plan to march, I think he thinks he will order a march, and all the people currently marching that he sees, love him so much and support his "deserving" lifestyle so much, they'll all march for him. He's putting in orders for you to march for him, on his behalf, and he absolutely believes it'll happen in troves.

[–] SippyCup@lemmy.world 12 points 1 week ago (2 children)

I would march.

200 bucks an hour I'll walk around a bit and pretend to give a shit.

I will also say things that when taken out of context will sound fucking awful and when in context will sound extremely suspicious.

[–] zbyte64@awful.systems 8 points 6 days ago

I would march too, it's too easy to satire the movement. Signs like "Bill Gates did nothing wrong on Epstein's Island" or "Peter Thiel is not a vampire" seem like a good fit for the event.

[–] LavaPlanet@sh.itjust.works 2 points 6 days ago

This would be hilarious!

[–] A_Random_Idiot@lemmy.world 23 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

Yes, get billionaires into the streets and marching.

I predict this will do wonders for the compacting roller market.

[–] corsicanguppy@lemmy.ca 7 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Think of the egg industry! It can't handle the buyer pressure in the days up to these events.

[–] Drusas@fedia.io 1 points 1 week ago

brb, buying rotten tomatoes

[–] BillyClark@piefed.social 21 points 1 week ago

Ooh, the headline is slightly misleading. It should say, "A desperate nobody who sees his misguided startup failing starts a self-promotion campaign to try to get money from rich people."

[–] phoenixz@lemmy.ca 20 points 1 week ago (2 children)

I'd love too watch 20 billionaires walk in a group

Such temptation

[–] HowAbt2day@futurology.today 5 points 1 week ago

The other name for the march is the “MAGA bootlickers march”.

[–] vga@sopuli.xyz 3 points 1 week ago

There will be more security around them than what the US president gets when he goes out.

Is this guy dumb or secretly anti-billionaire? Gathering a bunch of billionaires in a small area, walking slowly in public streets, specifically to rally in favor of billionaire in this political climate. I would be more surprised if a shooter DIDNT take the opportunity.

[–] khannie@lemmy.world 11 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Can you imagine the size of the counter-demonstration. I really hope this goes ahead.

[–] Ringtail@slrpnk.net 3 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Came here to say the same, theyll all be out in the streets without the protection of their mansions

[–] khannie@lemmy.world 1 points 6 days ago

Why do these people hate us so mu....

OOF. OUCH.

[–] Drusas@fedia.io 3 points 1 week ago

That would be amazing. Like 20 multimillionaires and one billionaire show up and then....

[–] dylanmorgan@slrpnk.net 10 points 1 week ago

The only march where you can be certain if it’s more than 5 people they’re paid protestors.

[–] hector@lemmy.today 8 points 1 week ago

That would be a shame if during their march they got ambushed with masses of egg throwing counter protesters that pelted them all mercilessly with eggs, and maybe water baloons.

[–] notsosure@sh.itjust.works 5 points 1 week ago

All medical personal report to sickbay 15 immediately.

[–] surewhynotlem@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago
