So he sucks for assuming she cares about attractiveness, and she sucks for being rude.

And I suck for finding a way to feel superior to both of them.

Need to ask the price, too. Waiting til you find them in person gives them the edge in negotiations. Unless you're into that.

The worst time to negotiate price.

[–] Spacehooks@reddthat.com 1 points 3 weeks ago

Depends what you're into 😆

*double-checks the shape of rigatonis before making joke*

Yeah; that checks out.

I think the kind of guy who would, unprompted, tell someone they're being unattractive like this probably earned the rudeness

Good on him for apparently learning from the situation though

[–] rumschlumpel@feddit.org 1 points 3 weeks ago

What could possibly prompt this exact phrasing?

[–] scytale@piefed.zip 38 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I mean, technically he didn't specify that her rudeness wasn't attractive to him specifically.

[–] LadyMeow@lemmy.blahaj.zone 28 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

It’s ok, she not trying to attract you, either.

[–] gustofwind@lemmy.world 3 points 3 weeks ago

Rudeness is good 💅

The fuck it isn't! There are way too many shitty people in this world who use tone policing and shaming to win arguments they rightfully ought to lose.

I'd prefer a forthright jerk to a polite sociopath any day.

[–] Saapas@piefed.zip 1 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Being rude is not an argument

[–] tomiant@piefed.social -1 points 3 weeks ago

You are right and people who think she had a wow omzg comeback are juvenile.

[–] tomiant@piefed.social -2 points 3 weeks ago

If that's how you feel, then go fuck yourself you twat.

See how your argument sucks?

[–] peteypete420@sh.itjust.works 4 points 3 weeks ago

Meh, all we know is one person thought she was rude, we dont know if she was. Its ok if people think you are.

[–] thatradomguy@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Why are people trying to justify who could be be equally as bad as the guy. People are just projecting and going off speculation without hearing both sides. As usual... on the Internet....

[–] Saapas@piefed.zip 3 points 3 weeks ago

But the same thing applies to the guy. It's not okay for him to be rude either

[–] vzqq@lemmy.blahaj.zone 12 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

That guy knows nothing. Rude girls go hard.

[–] FartMaster69@lemmy.dbzer0.com 11 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

We found the twink she’s looking for.

[–] vzqq@lemmy.blahaj.zone 7 points 3 weeks ago

Not really. More into brats. But I’m not judging.

[–] SharkAttak@kbin.melroy.org 7 points 3 weeks ago

"We're on a date..."

[–] toynbee@lemmy.world 5 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

What does "sent me to sleep" mean here?

[–] RedSnt@feddit.dk 3 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Not sure, but maybe something like "floored me" or "left me flabbergasted"?

[–] toynbee@lemmy.world 3 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

That's pretty much what I was guessing from context - "knocked me out" or "blew my mind" - but I've not heard it before.

edit: Correct a word.

[–] flapperfivethousand@sh.itjust.works 5 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago) (1 children)

Dude missed the easy comeback: "No, I meant generally."

Edit: Just to clarify: He started it, and they both sound rude. I was just making a joke.

[–] tomiant@piefed.social -2 points 3 weeks ago

Sounds like she was being a rude asshole, he pointed it out, and she doubled down on being a rude asshole. I can literally smell the type of person who would say something like that from here.

[–] RedSnt@feddit.dk 3 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

Humbling experience that one should learn from sooner rather than later in life.

[–] tomiant@piefed.social 0 points 3 weeks ago
  1. He was not saying "I find you unattractive", he was saying "stop being an asshole".

  2. It is, in fact, not a genuine question, it is an asshole comeback from an asshole person.
