Ha! Jeson Nelon Presilla Flores was voluntarily deported to his childhood country of Ecuador, where there is no extradition treaty.

Most uplifting news I’ve heard this year!

Lol, did they pay him to go and avoid prison and likely deportation?

I was so busy laughing I forgot to be angry, sorry jewelery comapnies

They have insurance for this. They'll be fine.

[–] KingGimpicus@sh.itjust.works 15 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

That's the even bestest part. The jewelery companies intentionally undervalued the pieces in order to lower the cost of insuring it all. The jewelers are now suing Brinks because their insurance will only pay out the insured amount, which was about $10m. Brinks is countersuing the jewelers for breach of contract and fraud for claiming 10x less than actual value when paying for shipping.

Honestly I hope everyone involved gets fucked out of house and home lmfaoooo

Those jewelers are SOL. Those insurance contracts are ironclad. They'll end up eating the cost AND the cost of the defense. Bold move cotton.

That headline is a sentence fragment which I would've been docked points for in school.

which I would’ve been docked points for

"for which I would've been docked points"

BREAKING: Headline sentence fragment; student's grade slammed.

Perhaps. But headlines aren't sentences. They're headlines.

"Anger as..." Would require a verb to actually make sense, regardless. We can assume they meant something like "Anger builds as..." But they didn't write that.
