Luckily it is plainly spelled out in your passport a short list of things you can do to "lose" your US passport (oh no!) such as working for a foreign military. Otherwise, those fuckin crooks, want like €3k to "give it up" and even then, they reserve the right to harass you about tax money for 10 years after. Land of the free my ass. Fuck the US.

Realistically, what could they do if you migrate to Europe, become a citizen and just don't pay US taxes anymore? I mean except not let you into the US anymore.

Quite a bit, unfortunately. US has it's tendrils in all of the world's financial systems and forces other governments to do wealth/asset reporting on its citizens. We aren't quite to the point yet where the EU would grow a spine against the US. And I already emigrated out. That they might not let me back in is the least of what they could do. I could easily end up on a sanctions list and then bye-bye any kind of modern banking.
