Feels like this needs to be tested. Many ICE agents cower to pressure from witness presence so hunting them and their families like they want to hunt the Good family will show them both sides of their argument.

Put a BB under the caps of the air stems in their tires. It will cause a slow leak that they'll never find. Make them come out to empty tires every day.

Absolutely they think it will stop people. Why do you think people like MTG and Walz are getting out of politics? It's not just because of the threats, it's because they truly believe those threats to be real.
It's really easy to tell someone to ignore threats and carry on, but most of us have never received a message telling you that they intend to murder your entire family, and these people get messages like that every day. All it takes is one insane MAGA, and we know there are lots of them.
Add to that the Conservative Propaganda Machine, and the enthusiastic willingness to use the government to fully oppress their political enemies, and it's easy to understand why most people would just want to slip away from modern American politics. It's not just toxic, it's legitimately dangerous. All it would take is one Tweet from the Maniac-In-Chief, and The Purge is on.
They are beyond any reproached, absolutely reprehensible. Every accusation is truly a confession. We cannot share a country with these people.

They want a violent response as justification for further escalation of force in pursuit of a "state of emergency".
This is a dangerous line to keep touting. They're already doing this, and they don't need an "excuse" to do it more. This line of thinking just keeps people from actually opposing their blatant takeover with real action.
Resist.
To the contrary, I'm of the opinion that it's inevitable, but I think timing is going to be pretty important. Jumping the gun before there is enough investment in the cause could be catastrophic.

Then we've already lost. Convincing our neighbors and even our families that this is violent fascism at all is just getting us labeled as extremists or hysterical, or at the very least over- reactors. People are fully in denial here. It's hard when everyone on lemmy seems to think just because we can't get our neighbors to wake up, and we're not willing to get ourselves immediately killed via one man revolution that all Americans equally deserve this.

I can say at my last protest the number of well wishers responses increased and while the trump negative response was not greater in number it was more aggressive. Almost like they are mad they are made to "look bad" with the additional murders and shootings.
I mean, it's like that video that was circulating today, where the agent says to the women recording him "What, you haven't learned any lessons?" and the woman says something like "Oh yeah, what lessons would that be, huh?" and he slaps the phone out of her hand. They're pissed that people are not backing down.
