That may be a dated opinion, I’ve been in NH since 2014 and it’s always felt like a nice place to me. Sure, Vermont is cooler, but we’ve got like 23 miles of sweet ocean coastline!
Most of the assholes here seem to arrive in 7 row SUVs from Massachusetts. Also Dodge RAMs.

Yes, we have had our share of right wing assholery - most famously the Leob family - William and then his wife Nacky, they ran the Manchester Union Leader newspaper and were die-hard conservatives.. but both have been dead for decades now.
The no income and sales tax thing (while being taxed up the ass on property) attracts a metric ton of right wing idiots from elsewhere.. ad they move in and live high on the hog - UNTIL - they hit retirement, then they can't get fast enough out to a place with lower property taxes.
We're actualy solidly aligned as New Englanders except for the low-income, low education, reactionary folks up in Coos county that lost their livelihoods when the paper mills shut down decades ago.. they are the ones you'll see rolling coal and driving with confederate flags in the windows of their rusted out pickups..

As much as I’d dream of this. If the blue states left, it would tank the red economy and make them pissy. They would then pull a Russia and try to force back those states. You’d then have old US being attacked by Mexico, Canada and New US. The other issue is that most of the weapons of mass destruction are currently residing mostly red states.
Since this side of the world would be in turmoil, I’d have to assume Russia and China would take advantage of that for their own gains.
