You used the meme with the panels the correct way around! Finally someone did it!

Kudos for getting the relationship of the glasses correct.

[–] FundMECFS@anarchist.nexus 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Canonically I’ll imagine it’s that they’re trying on their friends glasses lol

[–] Hylactor@sopuli.xyz 7 points 2 days ago

Well in the movie he has super powers, so his vision no longer needs correction. So his own glasses actually are detrimental to his vision. It doesn't make perfect sense, but that's what's depicted. Typically people do not honor this relationship, but OP did, which I find heartening.

Yep – despite the death of Blockbuster et al., I still choose to 'rent my content. Pay no mind to the appearance of the apostrophe. Truth be told, I'd still be willing to pay for video rental if they didn't choose to overcharge for HD versions. 3-4 € for a single watch of the film in blu-ray quality 4k would be perfectly reasonable, however the platform locks (no Linux etc.) due to DRM make that option not viable even if it did exist, as I don't have any devices that could consume the content.

New game comes out

It's super popular

No money

Attempt to pirate it

Get nothing in search results but shit talking about a horse. No downloads or anything.

Where the hell do I get a torrent for Elden Ring and not just ?

[–] driving_crooner@lemmy.eco.br 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Get the FOMO out of yourself. Let the games pass a 6 months old test to check them up after the marketing and the hype turned down and see if the game is worth your time. You even get to play them after they were tested and the bugs had been solved.

95% of the super popular games end being ok or meh after 6 months.

It was a joke about the horse in Elden Ring being named Torrent so searching "Elden Ring torrent" just results primarily in info about the horse. lol

And also it's Elden Ring. The game is still super fucking good even after 3 years. 🤷‍♂️

[–] TheOakTree@lemmy.zip 2 points 2 days ago

Also Elden Ring was pirated pretty much at launch because of how simple and outdated FromSoft's DRM practice are.

bind the client, but also be sure that it's locked down to force everything to go through the VPN as well

preferrably with a VPN that will continue blocking traffic even if the entire VPN client is closed

Gluetun in docker is Our friend. If you run a small Homeserver on a pi for example

[–] Aceticon@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Or if you're running qBittorrent (either the full version or the server-only one which is probably best for a server machine) you can just bind it to the network device of the VPN (in Tools->Options->Advanced->Network Interface) and it will only ever run over that interface so when the VPN is down it won't upload or download because that network interface is not present.

This actually makes much more sense in a Pi since the qBittorrent server-only version installed directly without a container is way lighter than the Docker version and can be managed remotely via a web interface so it will leave a lot more free resources in an SBC like the Pi.

I use a VPN for the full subnet, plus VPN server so I can access it all when traveling.

Not as instant as Netflix, but a much wider catalog.

[–] ThatGuyNamedZeus@feddit.org 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

mullvad works with tailscale

and if anything you try to access blocks connections from mullvad, proton is almost as good

[–] Railcar8095@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Never managed to get Mullvad and Tailscale to work. I have both now at router level now

[–] ThatGuyNamedZeus@feddit.org 1 points 2 days ago

yeah I don't know how they're supposed to work together either.

This except Prowlarr

[–] brognak@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Weird way to spell Debrid but not my setup 😘

[–] veroxii@aussie.zone 8 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I mean debrid (via stremio and torrentio at least) is still torrents... Just cached.

[–] ExcessShiv@lemmy.dbzer0.com 7 points 3 days ago

And it doesn't gave the added benefit of data preservation that traditional torrenting has.

[–] TigerAce@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Why use torrents? Usenet is the way to go! Privacy rights, less malware and viruses, no upload.
