Citing the “start” of Wall•E is so specific, and it’s wrong. These characters are kinda infamously only in the second half.

ChatGPT, is this true? /s

The deliberate correct hyphenation character there, that's how you know this one's knowledge is not to be tested lol

[–] WhiskyTangoFoxtrot@lemmy.world 3 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

In this context Wall—E might be more appropriate.

Where else will it steal its knowledge from? Won't you think of the questionably scrapped training data!

Where else will it steal its knowledge from?

From itself and other AIs. What could possibly go wrong?

Thanks, just reminded me to go donate to Wikipedia

[–] Railing5132@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago

Set up a recurring monthly donation. It doesn't have to be huge, I do like 5 or 10 bucks a month (I forget, because it's automatically withdrawn).

I can't tell you how many times the AI summary on google is just a cut and past of one of the top responses which is also often Wikipedia.

[–] trashcroissant@lemmy.blahaj.zone 25 points 3 weeks ago

And half the time it's taken out of context so it's not even the correct answer.

I've been thinking about those guys a lot lately. Especially when the articles about AI making us dumber started coming out.

It was actually a very insightful depiction of future humans

Are these like the people in Idiocracy?

[–] trolololol@lemmy.world 4 points 3 weeks ago

They're the next stage after Idiocracy. If I remember correctly they don't walk or talk at all, just watch tv and eat.

[–] Lexam@lemmy.world 22 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I've got worse news for those who think we are these people. We're not. We are the population that is eliminated once they perfect their automations.

[–] SGforce@lemmy.ca 7 points 3 weeks ago

Right? Those people are all of Musk's clones

[–] LodeMike@lemmy.today 9 points 3 weeks ago

"Start" isn't it like the fourth act?

[–] ininewcrow@lemmy.ca 9 points 3 weeks ago

I think you fell off your hover chair, spilled your milkshake and had a brief moment of clarity .... don't worry the robot assistants will help you back up and put you back in your chair

[–] Salvo@aussie.zone 7 points 3 weeks ago

I’m sure that adambarta probably doesn’t see that as a problem.

Maybe he needs to have someone explain the insult to him.
