Tbf, if they had monorail service in Goodsprings, this wouldn't be a problem. Instead it's all car-dependent asphalt roads or unwalkable, mutant-infested desert.

The FNV map is a reasonably accurate, downscaled version of the actual topography and cities and notable landmarks of the Las Vegas area.

They have that little bar where you visit in the beginning of the game. They even setup a little fallout memorabilia corner in goodsprings
Wow, I just looked it up on Maps - I had no idea. This is awesome. I tried to find it myself whithout looking at blogposts and whatnot, so I'm still not 100% sure, but I guess this is the one.
