The DA said it's a guilty plea in exchange for them not seeking the death penalty. My understanding is that the judge can still reject such a deal, however. Since the DA said it's at the request of most victims' families involved, I'm guessing the judge would accept.

I have made bids on short flights if the free luggage included in business class would make the bid cost less than paying for the bags. I haven't been successful yet, however...

They place a hold that goes away if your offer is not accepted or you cancel your bid, which you can do anytime before it's accepted (usually in the 24 hours before the flight).

It also speeds up the games a bit. I simply do not have the time as a full adult to sink 10+ hours into a single game. I have actually finished every game of Civ 7 I've played so far, which has never happened with any prior Civ installments at my current playtime.

He is from the Cincinnati area, which borders Kentucky, and he spent some of his youth in Kentucky. Not a proper southerner, but from the gradient where North becomes South.

Especially since it wasn't a real cancellation, just "on indefinite hiatus" followed by "never coming back" almost five years later. The second season ending very much set up at least another season.

Indeed. Or working for prison slave wages.

Yeah, the cheap standard powder detergent would probably be less expensive. The volume you'd need to make to beat it is huge. Like, maybe five years' worth.

I am also laughing at making washing powder in the oven to save money. The amount you'd spend on electricity would put you in the red, unless you live in a petrostate with free electricity or something.

And have to hear the cat yelling at you to open the door the entire time you're showering?

Vatican City: could participate but does not.

It'd be interesting for one of these games to have realistic planning and permitting mechanics.

"Your permit is delayed a week because the only person at City Hall who reviews them is on vacation."

"To add a 6 ft fence, you need to go before the local planning board and convince them it's necessary. You can reduce the height to 4 ft to avoid this."

"The power company installed the meter on the wrong side of the house. They will relocate it for $10,000, and the earliest appointment is in three weeks. If they don't, you have to relocate the HVAC unit and reroute the ductwork to account for that. Further, the electrician will charge $9,000 to adjust the wiring for the different meter location."

I don't think there is conclusive evidence right now. But what I have heard hypothesized is that books require engaging your mind over a longer period of time on the same narrative thread broken up over numerous sittings. So, you improve your ability for complex, long-term cognition, since you have to commit to memory and recall details about that specific story, not just general ideas related to it.

I think it would also be problematic to exclusively read books personally. Not everything worth reading makes sense in a long format. Technical documentation is also part of my day-to-day.
