Oh man, wait until you try 15 beers.

[–] SpaceCowboy@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 day ago

Hmmm.... for some reason having 14 beers has made the prospect of having a 15th beer seem like a very good idea.

[–] thatradomguy@lemmy.world 1 points 23 hours ago

Get you a partner that looks at you like this dude looks at his cup. lmao

[–] Landless2029@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

14 shots > 14 beers

My stomach couldn't handle that much beer.

[–] Pelicanen@sopuli.xyz 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

It's an all-day activity, in my opinion it's much more pleasant than binging.

Tipsy all day > Shitfaced at night

[–] Landless2029@lemmy.world 2 points 22 hours ago

Yeah I'll do 2-3 shots and maintain the buzz.

Me when I've had 14 beers in a lan party with my mates and one of them is expecting their first child, one has an 8mo old baby and one is divorced, but at least I've had 14 beers (this is today and I'm 34 and wtf am I doing with my life lmao) thanks for letting me share xoxo

[–] wurstgulasch3000@feddit.org 13 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I mean 14 beers sounds better than a divorce to me

[–] kasuaaliucceli@sopuli.xyz 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Hahah that is a good point, but my viewpoint here (drunk and everyone else is already snoring) is that it is better to have loved than to be afraid like I've been. Lol. If it makes sense :)

[–] some_kind_of_guy@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

You have perfect punctuation and no typos, therefore you're the best kind of drunk

[–] GiveOver@feddit.uk 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Sounds fun! Get off Lemmy!

[–] kasuaaliucceli@sopuli.xyz 2 points 1 day ago

Nuh uh! :) Hehe. I'll get some sleep for sure, have a good one, thanks for replying to my drunken mumblings lol. Have to appreciate these things as they are rare nowadays. :)

Surely you won't regret drinking 14 beers

Try not to drink any beers on the way to the parking lot!

[–] Klear@quokk.au 2 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Yeah, you'd likely spill them if you put them on top of each other.

[–] boonhet@sopuli.xyz 2 points 1 day ago

Probably over a couple of hours. Shotgunning 14 sounds lethal.

[–] SaharaMaleikuhm@feddit.org 10 points 2 days ago (4 children)

Can someone translate how much 14 beers is in Murrica? Cause in my neck of the woods that would be 7 liters with half a liter per beer.

[–] watson387@sopuli.xyz 8 points 1 day ago

That looks like a pint glass in his hand.

[–] BurntWits@sh.itjust.works 6 points 1 day ago (1 children)

In Canada at least, most restaurants serve beer in 18oz glasses unless otherwise stated, so I’m gonna assume that’s what they do in the States too, which I’m guessing is where this meme is from. So 18*14=252oz, which is 7.45L. So basically what you said.

[–] ODGreen@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Shrinkflation. A pint in Canada is supposed to be 20 oz. In USA it's 16.

[–] BurntWits@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Yeah, the 18oz “pint” really bugs me, but unfortunately it’s everywhere. It’s an exception if it’s 20oz, not the norm. Last night actually I was at a restaurant that was trying to pass off 17oz as a pint. If it wasn’t so expensive I wouldn’t mind it, but at least where I live, 18oz goes north of $9 most places, it’s crazy. There’s only one restaurant nearby that sells beer at a decent price, so that’s basically the only place I go these days if I want a drink other than at home.

[–] ODGreen@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Sheesh. Glad I'm sober these days.

[–] BurntWits@sh.itjust.works 1 points 23 hours ago

Chuck’s Roadhouse is pretty good for beer prices. IIRC, it’s:

12oz - $3 18oz - $5

That could be slightly off but you get the idea. They’ve got a 30ish oz pitcher too that’s probably only $15 or something. I can’t remember now but it was very cheap. I don’t go to Chucks a ton, the food is decent (not great but decent) and well priced, I just don’t usually eat out, but my wife loves restaurants so Chucks has become our go-to now because of pricing. Life is expensive, all that jazz. Point is, I can get a small beer for $3 which is completely unheard of elsewhere. Yeah it’s only 12oz but it’s still a good deal, and I can get drunk at home if I really want. I don’t like getting beer drunk anyway, I always feel miserable that way.

I found out apparently Crabby Joes has cheap cocktails too. $8 for a 2oz old fashioned is pretty cheap around here. Still cheaper to make at home, but I’m glad some places still exist with a drink menu for the budget-conscious.

Is about 6.4 liters based on this probs being a pint glass.

Seems like a good night 🍻

Standard can of beer is 12 oz, and there are 32ish oz in a liter.

It’s always interesting to hear about where people draw the line. I drank 6 beers over 4 days and I feel like an alcoholic. I’ve also done takeout 3 days in a row and I feel gross about it - I just made meals for the week. In the meantime what I described for some people is an average week.

[–] tetris11@feddit.uk 1 points 23 hours ago* (last edited 23 hours ago)

2 beers is my max on any one day. 3 if I'm going hard. 4 if it's an all nighter.

Used to live with a guy who'd buy a crate (~20?) and he'd just sit in his room playing xbox and knocking them back all week

[–] aeternum@lemmy.blahaj.zone 6 points 1 day ago (1 children)

alcoholism is less about how MUCH you drink, and more about WHY you drink.

[–] presoak@lazysoci.al 3 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

I never get high (or drunk). Except when I am around people getting high. Then I have a hard time saying no.

So I avoid those people. I really lose it when I'm high.

[–] some_kind_of_guy@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

High on what, though, crack?

[–] inquisitor@piefed.social 5 points 1 day ago

drank my first ale with family after being sober for more than 4 months. nikmati hidupmu.

[–] NoPanko@feddit.uk 5 points 2 days ago
