For a second, I thought this was about some ICE bullshit.

¿Por que no los dos?

[–] Adderbox76@lemmy.ca 18 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Yes. But that was a strange time in my life that I'd rather not discuss openly.

It's okay. A lot of people experimented during their college years.

You forgot the best part. When the judge came for a shave.

Is this real life or A Song of Ice and Fire?

[–] SomGye@sh.itjust.works 70 points 3 days ago (1 children)

It's Sweeney Todd The Demon Barber of Fleet Street

I mean… that’s probably a matter of perspective.

You should watch the movie rendition, it’s fantastic and Johnny Depp stars in it.

Don’t forget Alan Rickman!

Also wtf I never realized Sacha Baron Cohen was in it?

To shavea da faaaaaace.... to comba da bearddddd

He plays a child-abusing show-off barber.

[–] danc4498@lemmy.world 4 points 3 days ago

I’ll check it out!

I would argue that by the end of it, Mr. Todd did not consider the experience "cool"

If you are a Hamilton fan, I highly recommend checking out their tribute to Sweeney Todd.

Demon barber sweeny todd randomly pops into my head in the shower, much to the confusion of the hubs who has not seen that tribute

I love the part in that where his mobile phone rang- a mean… a bird tweeted!

Just realizing how close this is to the plot of oldboy.

Microplastic pies

[–] plz1@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

This sounds like a good sequel to Oldboy (the American version, the Korean version cannot ever be sequel-ed properly).

Except it kind of was the middle film of an informal trilogy about revenge.

The sequel (kinda not really but thematically) has food porn (baking, even!), and a really beautiful community healing/torture scene where a fancy cake is contrasted with a piece of tofu as a central metaphor.
