Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

"Quiet, piggy!"

[–] ZombieMantis@lemmy.world 23 points 1 day ago

Yeah, that's why he's saying it, dipshit.

[–] boaratio@lemmy.world 39 points 1 day ago (3 children)

Didn't Trump already get people killed on January 6th?

[–] vortexsurfer@lemmy.world 10 points 16 hours ago (1 children)
[–] DragonTypeWyvern@midwest.social 4 points 15 hours ago

The Navy is murdering people in the ocean at will...

[–] BlameTheAntifa@lemmy.world 23 points 1 day ago

He’s also murdering Venezuelan fishermen, aiding the Palestinian and Ukrainian genocides, and inflicting death by starvation and disease mostly on children the world over. He is a mass murderer.

[–] etherphon@lemmy.world 8 points 21 hours ago

Yeah. Should have said AGAIN, He's gonna get someone killed AGAIN.

[–] Formfiller@lemmy.world 1 points 13 hours ago

Throw his pedofile ass in prison

[–] Gates9@sh.itjust.works 26 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Hakeem Jeffries isn’t going to save anyone, and if his faction of neoliberals remain in power, they will perpetuate the policies and maintain the environment that produced Trump, except we already have Trump, so what comes next will be far worse.

[–] ameancow@lemmy.world 5 points 15 hours ago

He's been one of the absolute weakest, belly-exposing, fealty-bowing establishment dems in the entire government. He has literally cited Trump's "mandate" as a reason why they can't oppose him. Fuck him and his tepid "he better not say bad stuff" response. I hope he gets primaried but we all know how set-in this old-money is.

Bad shit comes and goes. This bad shit is going. It'll be good shit for a while, after the bad shit is gone, but don't worry, there will be more bad shit in the future. Source: History.*

Melissa Hortman, Mark Hortman, and Brian Sicknick from his stochastic terrorism, for starters. He killed a bunch with his covid disinfo and his bigoted endorsements and apathy, and even more with his command to build and operate concentration camps, traffic humans, and explode dozens of fishermen, to name only a few.

Trump killed a MILLION Americans through waffling and not taking COVID seriously.

Yes, I'm laying every American COVID death during the pandemic at his feet. It's all he deserves.

Study: 14 million lives could be lost due to Trump's USAID cuts

But the collective US and the west would never consider comparing him to Stalin or that other Chinese guy that killed millions. It would severely devalue their propaganda machine.

[–] owenfromcanada@lemmy.ca 25 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Pretty sure he ordered a hit on his ex-wife as well. She died a few days before her NDA expired, had an autopsy performed, was cremated and buried on Trump's property, all within a few days (normally a process that would take significantly longer).

[–] WindyRebel@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

Sure, but fame and money expedites things. Still, extremely sus.

[–] MourningDove@lemmy.zip 62 points 1 day ago (1 children)

He’s gotten hundreds of thousands killed. Now ask him if he cares about a few more

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 29 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

Trump could be caught on a hot mic saying he wants everyone in the country dead and he has plans to make it happen, and absolutely nothing would be done about it

[–] MourningDove@lemmy.zip 29 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Yep. Though I’d imagine he’d be SLAMMED by people that are OUTRAGED.

[–] ivanafterall@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Schumer would send a letter. Megyn Kelly would spend a week saying, "He was JOKING, GUYS! And honestly, we would deserve it!"

[–] ripcord@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

"I've had conversations with my colleagues" would definitely happen

[–] peopleproblems@lemmy.world 40 points 1 day ago (2 children)

That's his plan. That's always been his plan. What kind of rock have you stuffed yourself under if you believe it isn't his plan.

[–] ripcord@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

He doesn't have a plan here himself. He's just parroting what Steven Miller told him.

[–] Raiderkev@lemmy.world 11 points 1 day ago

This is Hakeem Jeffries we're talking about. He is roommates with Patrick Star

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago

But, but... That's the plan!

[–] BigMacHole@sopuli.xyz 26 points 1 day ago

AGREED! If Trump doesn't stop NOW then a Lawmaker who MATTERS might get Killed!

-Democrats!

[–] newthrowaway20@lemmy.world 26 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Pretty sure that's his point. What aren't you guys getting about this yet?

[–] zurohki@aussie.zone 6 points 1 day ago

commonly understood as shorthand for any rhetorical device allowing leaders to covertly order or exhort violence among their followers, while still being able to claim plausible deniability for political, legal, or other reasons.

[–] Pacattack57@lemmy.world 14 points 1 day ago

Why is the title what it is instead of “unhinged president threatens to kill 6 senators”

[–] muxika@lemmy.world 25 points 1 day ago

Too late, dumbass. Why didn't you say something more meaningful when Covid was rampant, or the MOAB rocked the Middle East, or J6 happened, or more recently when people started to disappear, or when he started bombing fishermen, or when he took food from low-income families?

[–] kmartburrito@lemmy.world 15 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Should have told him to stuff a dick in it

[–] resipsaloquitur@lemmy.world 1 points 23 hours ago

Big Beautiful Bill.

[–] salacious_coaster@infosec.pub 11 points 1 day ago

Someone important, he means. Everyone who's already been killed are just numbers on paper to them.

[–] T00l_shed@lemmy.world 11 points 1 day ago

He already has, and continues to do so. Because no one is holding him accountable.

[–] tornavish@lemmy.cafe 7 points 1 day ago

Hopefully he gets himself killed

[–] Chais@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 day ago

Fingers crossed it's himself.

[–] SpikesOtherDog@ani.social 7 points 1 day ago (1 children)

There is no bottom when it comes to Donald Trump.

We'll find out more about that when the files come out.

[–] ivanafterall@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

They don't call him Dump Truck Trump for nothing.

[–] GhostedIC@sh.itjust.works -4 points 21 hours ago

He saw the dems were just plain getting away with it, so...
