Pretty sad the folks going around claiming to be champions of common sense don't even understand a extremely basic concept like "the dose makes the poison".
I mean I'm all for humanity, but at the same time I wish they'd just get to the Kool aid part quicker. I'm ready to move on. I have no desire to live in Gilead.

No, they're just random far-right wingnuts, for the most part. Pretty much anyone living in Alberta could buy a party membership and attend. Same as the NDP, or whatever party you support in whichever province you're in.
Edit: Its worth addressing that generally, there's a tacit understanding that the resolutions are more of a wishlist, and most will be ignored. The people willing to spend their own money on a weekend of meetings tend to be "opinionated", and regardless of party to come up with ideas pretty far from electability. So, the real democracy happens when they pick a leader.
This is not the case in the UCP. Their membership is fully in that extremist vortex where they care less about electability than posturing, and have made their willingness to oust a leader that doesn't play along known. Usually that gets you owned in general elections, but because Albertans tend to blindly vote the same way every time I do still worry.
Ban them in front of schools or universities? It's surprising how difficult the concept of freedom of expression is for some.

As a Trans woman myself I read that as something the UCP saying not something CBC was saying.
I agree with only allowing national and provincial flags in front of government buildings. We dont have a flag put up for every cause, not sure why the pride flag deserves more recognition than an indigenous flag or Metis flags, or the Israeli or Palestinian flag or the Human Rights flag or the Ukrainian flag or any other minority group. Its Canada. If we dont want to show prejudice for or against just fly the national or provincial flag, thats it.
