Establish a representative council from people all over the world like this project to decide what projects would be usefull. An undefined amount of start-up capital is too much power for a single person to handle responsible so I'd delegate those decisions to as many different people as possible.

I’d probably have to resort to fraud. I’d just say I needed seed money for some AI bullshit, and BAM, I’d be swimming in cash overnight.

It would be something... Violent. Can't change the system to be better by using the system. Gotta destroy it first, and there will be... so much resistance against that.

But to make life better for the majority, action will have to be covert. None of that terrorist shit with shock, awe, destruction of public spaces, and the loss of civilian life. No names, no titles, no spotlight, no ego.

Making life better for the majority will also be a lifetime career, and the resulting world that will hopefully be built from such action would not be for me to live in, but future generations.

I say all this as some random guy on the Internet, but... One can dream. For now I'll settle with my job as an active trade unionist.

yeah some weirdos just love running water and electricity so grandma doesn't cook / suffocate.

look, I get it, you can't see any way to make things better, but you only have to smell bodies once or go a week without water coming from the faucet to start appreciating that perhaps.... destroy it all first isn't the best plan we can come up with.

I've been there already. Surviving without all that for years. You can thank 2008 for that.

[–] mojofrododojo@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

sure thing bud. you've been there but want it back, I do not believe you.

[–] Tattorack@lemmy.world 0 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I don't care what you believe, but you seem to be completely missing the point.

[–] mojofrododojo@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

you're so gung ho for tearing down the infrastructure mate, I think I know the point.

if you have a better plan by all means lay it out, but 'tear it all down' fucks so many you don't care about.

[–] Tattorack@lemmy.world 0 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Yeah, you're completely missing the point.

What's a reasonable amount of start-up capital? I wonder if you could make a big difference in US politics if you had like 50 billion USD and invested it all into promoting progressive (i.e. left of the DNC-mainstream) politicians and policy. Making sure that the USA don't fuck everyone else's shit up would make a huge difference.

Like, how much money are all the fascist billionaires actually investing into politics?

Might be a little late for this approach, though, at this point I'd expect that three letter agencies would just assassinate me if I started that now.

Approach Moshe Safdie's company about building Habitat 2027, 60 years after the scaled down compromise was built:

Habitat 67

I'd research an internet node that could be raised with a couple of bake sales and deployed anywhere with the objective of providing free high-speed wifi to the populated world.

After a roll-out to get every point on the globe covered (that has people near it), we'd work on an upgrade campaign to make sure it is redundant and robust and never shuts down no matter how angry the local dictators are.

The people have advantage when crowdsourcing repairs and reroutes around censorship and responding to DDOS so this should usher in a wave of democratic (lower case) movements across the world. Movements towards public services and benefits will likely follow, according to CIA analysts who study such things.

what did they do to you to deserve such a shit fate?

[–] Professorozone@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

Hit squad for billionaires I guess. Does it need to be legal?

[–] hexdream@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

How much would it costs to send all of the world's politicians to the titanic using ocean gate subs? Just suggesting they discuss their disagreements down there.

Re vamp the education system to go back to like it was during the mid 20th century.

Cheap, effective, accessible.

I would produce a pill that rewires the human brain to focus on the good events occurring around them and in the world.

Far too many of our societal problems are due to a significant portion of the world focusing on negative events. How many channel 9 news events are focused on car crashes or shootings? How much social media profit is based upon rage bait? How many hours wasted scrolling on insta fantasizing about being anyone but your own self?

We have within ourselves already great capacity to do great things, we just need to unchain that potential.
