There should be a limit on how many years you can do that work for. I taught behavior for eleven years and it fucked my life up, though I couldn't see it at the time.

I’ve been in the field since 2019, and I’ve never once yeeted a child or felt the urge to. The real truth is it is a field that you need the correct temperament for. The only thing I dislike about my day is the obnoxious adults and their drama.

Worked in a lvl 2 mental health facility for 2 years as the animal manager, so I only tangentially worked with patients; I just managed the staff interactions with the animals. The people that worked in patient facing roles were some of the sketchiest people I’ve ever met. Some were former patients of the very worksite. The general theme was that I was shocked that none of the employees were qualified to be there, and in some cases, employed in general.

To be fair, I used to love when my older siblings threw me across the room and into a couch or bed. Kid needs to learn that not all fun is tied to a screen. Sometimes it's being yeeted.

slings 10-year-old across room 'like Superman'

Like did the kid fly across the bus like superman or did he pick him up and throw him like superman.

[–] frongt@lemmy.zip 7 points 2 weeks ago

Like when superman grabs and throws someone. They grabbed the kid by the ankle and threw him.
