Sloth and it's not even close

[–] ByteJunk@lemmy.world 7 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

To be fair, they're very good at not falling from trees.

[–] explodicle@sh.itjust.works 8 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

They fall like every week! They're just really good at surviving falls.

Have you seen a sloth? they are SO CUTE

[–] Venat0r@lemmy.world 4 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

sloth caption should actually be something like "I rely on consuming next to no energy and resources by moving very slowly"

Also harder to see for predators.

Everyone is going to say various things but the wolf is closest to all of us. Humanity has always relied on cooperation and the farther along society gets the more we need it. Its one reason things have gotten so effed up. There is a certain amount of assholes that can be absorbed by the system but when they get to be too many or too influential it breaks down the whole system.

[–] gnutrino@programming.dev 22 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

That's neat and all but I'm just trying not to fall out of this fucking tree.

[–] HubertManne@piefed.social 7 points 2 weeks ago

yeah and that is one of the ways we are so effed up because we need a system where no one has to worry about falling out so they can work on getting up to those higher leaves without concern.

Spiders are the best animals.

[–] popekingjoe@lemmy.world 11 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

We must care for the spiderbros and spidersises.

[–] tetris11@feddit.uk 2 points 2 weeks ago

spidersises

weird, I always called them spidergals

[–] explodicle@sh.itjust.works 5 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

On the internet, nobody knows you're a spider.

[–] Anafabula@discuss.tchncs.de 4 points 2 weeks ago

Some websites might not like spiders on the internet https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_spider

[–] Cnkcv@lemmy.ca 16 points 2 weeks ago

So, while in the Amazon I asked my guide how on earth and animal so slow was not hunted to extinction. His reply "they don't taste very good"

[–] TargaryenTKE@lemmy.world 16 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Realistically I'm a spider, but I'm rather envious of the sloth's ability to poop only once a week

[–] bampop@lemmy.world 13 points 2 weeks ago

the monkey’s paw curls another finger

Apparently I'm a spider sloth hybrid

[–] klemptor@startrek.website 11 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Spidersloth, spidersloth
Does whatever a spidersloth does

[–] chuckleslord@lemmy.world 9 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Can he swing from a web? Technically yes, but it's not recommended

Look out! Here comes spider-sloth

[–] ByteJunk@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

As the spider-sloth plummets faster and faster into the hard ground below, it suddenly remembers its mother's words long ago:

"Yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyooooo..." * splat *

Which animal embodies, "the concept of success is a capitalist mindset that keeps you buying things you don't need and comparing yourself to others, which robs you of contentment and some happiness"?

[–] trxxruraxvr@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

That's just wrong. The concept of success exists in many ideologies. It's just the generally accepted (in capitalist states) definition of success that's a problem.

[–] egrets@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

It's okay, you don't have to be that animal, I was asking for myself.

Just take a look in the mirror?

[–] snooggums@piefed.world 4 points 3 weeks ago

I'm gonna blend in with these similar looking creatures and hope one of them gets eaten instead of me.

[–] itkovian@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago

Looks like my survival strategy is inspired from sloth's.

[–] Klear@quokk.au 1 points 3 weeks ago

My group relies on loyalty to each other for our success but if there's any trouble, I'm gone.
