It's also dumber than it sounds. Most of the people migrating to Texas are people who want to move here. That means they're likely to be conservative.
Despite all the bitching people do about all the California people moving to Texas, the fact is they've made Texas more conservative. California liberals don't flee California for Texas.
And with the news that Mamdani won, the only New Yorkers I can see moving to Texas for political reasons would be conservatives threatened by a socialist Muslim.

Since New York City (or state) would never pay to relocate people to Texas (the lie is tariffs are paid by the "other" party), maybe this political stunt will educate some of the Texas voter base on the tariff scam they are currently paying into, nationally.
