I had this girlfriend "K". K was always breaking up with me over something or just overall being distant. She, today, told me she's not good at showing affection and is not ready to have a boyfriend. She said she would like to be good friends with me, though. :)

Idk man, sounds toxic.

I think you can be friends with an ex again, but it really depends on the circumstances and I think some time needs to pass where you need to not see each other before you can attempt to build a friendship.

6-18 months.

Just my feeling

This was my experience, yeah. It's possible but one should be totally disconnected for a time first.

Sounds like she wants a boyfriend, but doesn't want to put effort into having a relationship.

Run.

Depends on if you still want to be more than friends or not.

I haven't stayed friends with any of my exes, it's too much emotional labor.

Them trying to make a friendship work depends on if they CAN be friends.

Most people do not have a good time trying to be friends with someone they are romantically interested in.

Them trying to make a friendship work

OP never questioned whether they could make a friendship work.

As a general rule: don’t fuck with exes

Fair. My one ex “A” broke up with me and called me abusive when I tried to be her friend again.

[–] Jake_Farm@sopuli.xyz 3 points 2 weeks ago

Is that a good thing?

[–] davepleasebehave@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago

How do you feel about it?

[–] RBWells@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

This really depends. Were you friends before? Then cool, get back to it, if you aren't going to be pining after them.

It does not matter why she really broke up with you, it only matters if you can, well, friend-zone her as well. If YOU think also that y'all are better off as friends. It has to be mutual or you may feel heartbroken.

This really depends.

What does?

[–] RBWells@lemmy.world 1 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

The success of a friendship with an ex lover.

[–] rah@hilariouschaos.com 1 points 2 weeks ago

OP never questioned whether the friendship would be a success.

Been down this road, have to go no contact, she will sabotage your future relationships.
