I pray that this is only temporary, because for weeks now the image quality has been extremely poor, making the results unusable. Despite careful prompts and using the “Professional Photo” mode, human bodies are only rendered as 1950s pin-ups with uniform brown-beige plastic skin, and the faces all look the same, like sticker doll masks. Damn, it used to be so good and it was so interesting to create individual, distinctive human characters! I really hope that at least the previous quality will be restored! Thank you for your work!

By and large, I've been really happy with the new text gen. When it works well, it works really, really well. There have been a few times that it was working amazingly and I was really impressed by the quality -- times where it took a really complex scenario and performed beautifully, picked up on foreshadowing, did a great job at portraying nuanced characters and writing realistic in-character dialogue, etc. with minimal corrections needed.

I also already find it a huge improvement from the old model in almost every single way, outside of times the model starts severely and repeatedly hallucinating. More than anything else, I'm so, so glad that it isn't afraid of dark themes like the old model was. I love that if I give a character a dark backstory, it will sometimes add to and embellish it, and will also bring those details up when relevant of its own accord (without me having to repeatedly instruct and nag it to do so). So I've been really happy with the update!

Do take your time with it, but i personally preferred the old ai somehow..? It just seemed..much better at following instructions fully without trying to hallucinate things? But the more intelligent part is definitely better, still would've been cool if there was an option to use the old ai (⁠〒⁠﹏⁠〒⁠)

1. The already mentioned context window (this was the one thing we hoped most for) and
2. Which model did you choose (so we can look for workarounds easier)?

Thanks for all your hard work! I really noticed the text gen getting better little by little. Besides the hyperfixations and repetitions you mentioned there is also the on-off problem of following the prompt and writing instructions, other than this I've noticed only minor quirks (ignorable for me as the other problems are more important).

Hello, with all due respect, AI Story Generator is totally terrible right now.

Right now the model is straight up nonsense, ingoring the whole plotline, outputting texts that has just no correlation to the previous ones, jumping scenes without being told to, or refusing to change a scene and follow the new one, etc. It ignores already existing context and details, also makes characters know things they very clearly should not. A few months ago it worked relatively fine, even with the new AI being sometwhat bad at storytelling, now it's plainly dumb, ignoring the user, and even totally senseless.

Hi Dev!! Personally I think the new text model is a HUGE improvement over the old one. The story maker has gotten worlds better! If you think it can be improved that's AWESOME! I look forward to that. Don't beat yourself up or take anyone's negativity too seriously, you're making a really cool resource for free and that's really cool.

What is multiplayer plugin and database plugin actually?

Why perchance developer is lying?? Fine detail and overall image quality didn't improve but it only became worse. And it's clearly not 2x faster only slightly faster. Text rendering may be better that is all. So now ai chat is very broken and ai image is very worse. Perchance's update quality is in negative. 👎

That's fantastic news. There's moments perch really shines and you can see some fantastic quality and to have that all the time would be heaven.

Can we get an option to switch between the new and the old model?

Take your time. As an old FORTRAN coder, I know too well the headaches. You'll get it right. Only gripe I have is that sometimes it bogs down to nothing. Like yesterday, it was doing fine, but today, I think it's protesting the cold, because it takes almost three minutes to generate one paragraph. You got this.

Thank you ive hope AI chat bots become normal because current chat bot are...werid. Speaking of image gen, can you improve list of charachters can be generated? Like Alex, Clover and Sam from Totally Spies, or Will, Irma, Taranee, Cornelia and Hay Lin from W.I.T.C.H? Because auto random prompt aware of these charachters but cannot generate thier basic likeness like Lola Bunny or Ariel from Little Mermaid. Im suprised in old models gen it possile to generate basic likeness of Sophitia from Soulcalibur games, but on new model gen it require write better prompt.

Oh, hello, dear dev. I did also dunk on this new text model - and I'm still behind my words. Today it completely crashed the story I was so invested in. Again. It just kept escalating and escalating, editing my replies, editing AI's didn't help. I still use the image generator here, it's very good, not gonna lie! But the AI chat? Um, sorry, I migrated over to Silly Tavern some time ago, so I'll enjoy that instead. I hope that the AI text model is beneficial to some, but just not for me. And I won't pressure anyone to make any tweaks in this model, since this is free and I migrated elsewhere anyway. Just wanna wish you all the best for the new year and thank you for that half a year I used this AI chat.

Dear Dev, if you are reading this, I cannot continue my stories until I see a major improvement on the text model that happend to me and majority of us users back in September of last year, I have been using Perchance for nearly two years now, I am not being mean, I am just trying to be nice, I cannot stand the aggressiveness of the characters. Thank you.

Sorry to hear it works badly for others. I just used the ai-story-generator and had the best performance I have ever gotten! By a mile! I would like to know what LLM it is so I can find it and download it for my own use. Given the comments here about the model identifying itself differently, I'm not sure what to believe!

Thanks! Hanging in there still using it daily and I have found quite a few workarounds and instructions that seem to work or correct though the engine is VERY stubborn sometimes. Somtime I just change my story as I go to just handle situations. Keep up the good work.

Also by Image quality is it like Resolution wise? And possibly a suggestion here but I understand if it's not doable Will we someday get an upgrade to our Text to Image Resolution with added 768x1024 Resolutions someday?
