MODERATORS

I have seen a lot of posts on Gay Bros, as a genderfluid (mostly male) trans guy dating another trans guy, and a lot of the posts were just talking about how "men in dresses" should stop "pretending" to be lesbians and how "women" should stop "pretending" to be gay men.

There was one post in particular which I expected better from that said "is it okay to not want to date a trans man" and the comments were full of "is it okay to not want to date a woman? yes, you're gay not bi" and the like.

I have never seen that here or gotten that vibe. Thank you, GayBros Lemmy!

I appreciate the sentiment but fear Lemmy users have self selected for slightly more compassion. i hope we can maintain this compassion if we achieve a more general appeal.

How 'bout we just, like... Don't become more generally appealing? Fuck the normies. They ruin so much already.

it is entirely valid to want to protect these spaces. But I think society as a whole would be better off if our communal spaces had little to no financial incentives. I think Lemmy could be a keystone to get that ball rolling.

Holy shit that is some capital T phobia. I didn't know the Nazis invaded Reddit, but it sadly seems inevitable as popular platforms age. As a pansexual non-binary transfem who doesn't wear dresses, I at least don't feel hated here. Though there are still cliques, as in many settings.

Sadly, this community is not as active as I hoped it would be when I created it. We (everyone, but specially lgbtq) should seriously move away from for-profit and corporate social media, but the masses have not yet received the memo.

Thank you for posting!

I hate pep rallies too.
