46-year-old Native American

Ah yes, it's racism.

Remember the RATM lyrics

Those who work forces are the same that burn crosses

Defendant later wrote that he punched Plaintiff in order to facilitate first responders’ ability to ‘render aid’ to him.

He was offering a helping ~~hand~~ punch to the face.

"Atlanta Black Star is a narrative company. We publish narratives intentionally and specifically to enlighten and transform the world."

The details of the article definitely seem plausible but this is not exactly the byline I want to see from a news source.

A much better source. It clearly and repeatedly states that the details in the article are only allegations from the lawsuit. They also bothered to contact the police department for a statement.

Listen, I totally believe this guy's story but I think we should be posting more credible news sources here.

Why? Everyone has a narrative, theirs in their name, it’s part of their very identity.

Having an angle or a goal isn’t a bad thing, it’s what you’re trying to achieve that is the definer.

And for what it’s worth mbfc says they’re okay.

"Narrative" implies that it is commentary and not news. You said yourself that they have an angle. That makes their credibility as "news" unreliable. The only source cited in the article is the victim's lawsuit, the details of which are presented as fact instead of allegations. They didn't even cite a statement from the police department.

Again, I think this story is highly plausible, even likely, but I would want a source that wasn't so implicit in their bias.

I'm sick and tired about this so-called neutrality in the news. When you have all the facts and the understanding of the story, please also give your opinion on it.

[–] sangriaferret@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 month ago

My point is they don't have all the facts. They have the contents of a lawsuit and nothing else.

[–] Deceptichum@quokk.au 3 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

No it does not imply that.

And as I said every news has an angle, having an angle is not unreliable.

Why the fuck should they cite a statement from the police department? Does every other paper give statements from the alleged perpetrators every other time they cite the police?

Go take your centrist “both sides need a voice” shit elsewhere.

You said yourself that they have an angle. That makes their credibility as "news" unreliable.

Yes let's pretend news media has no bias
