Should register the car. That's what they should do.

[–] Xaphanos@lemmy.world 28 points 4 months ago (1 children)

And get a driver's license.

[–] muffedtrims@lemmy.world 16 points 4 months ago (1 children)

No need to get a driver's license as they are not "driving"

[–] Noodle07@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago

It never gets old

[–] tacosanonymous@mander.xyz 33 points 4 months ago (2 children)

Pull a gun and stand your ground. Sovcits can do whatever they want.

[–] doingthestuff@lemy.lol 14 points 4 months ago

Well cops are the real sovcits, so you're completely correct.

[–] LuckingFurker@lemmy.blahaj.zone 6 points 4 months ago

Don't forget to screech "AM I BEING DETAINED!?!?" at them

[–] Rivalarrival@lemmy.today 28 points 4 months ago

These stupid sovcit fuckwits and their "not for commerce" plates...

What they should be doing is conveying the vehicle to the nearest navigable waterway, and putting it on the boat launch ramp, allowing it to touch the water.

Now, it is no longer a land vehicle at all. It is a self-portaging, sea-going vessel. So long as you convey it regularly (monthly) between sea ports (boat ramps), it is now a boat, not a car. Land-based police have no jurisdiction over it, and it is no longer restricted to noncommercial use only.

I thought not having a plate meant your vehicle wasn't allowed to move until you fixed that?

[–] TragicNotCute@lemmy.world 29 points 4 months ago (2 children)

I’M NOT MOVING, I’M TRAVELING AND BASED ON THE ARTICLES OF CONFEDERATION…

[–] SatansMaggotyCumFart@lemmy.world 21 points 4 months ago (2 children)

Based on naval law this is a tugboat capable of moving your mother, officer.

[–] TachyonTele@piefed.social 9 points 4 months ago

I was just traveling to SeaWorld to tow her.

[–] Alexstarfire@lemmy.world 5 points 4 months ago

No tugboat is that strong.

[–] pivot_root@lemmy.world 14 points 4 months ago (1 children)

IT SAYS "NOT FOR COMMERCE" RIGHT THERE! WHY DOES IT MATTER WHAT I'M DOING? YOU'RE MAKING ME LATE FOR WORK!

[–] TragicNotCute@lemmy.world 10 points 4 months ago

GODDAMN ROAD PIRATES

[–] BonesOfTheMoon@lemmy.world 9 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Technically but not to sovcits.

[–] SatansMaggotyCumFart@lemmy.world 9 points 4 months ago (3 children)

But the officer just wrote them a ticket so it's a fine not an impoundment or anything.

[–] Rhynoplaz@lemmy.world 10 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago)

All sovcit heard was "so it's fine"

[–] kautau@lemmy.world 6 points 4 months ago (1 children)

The sovcit is going to write on the ticket that because his name is capitalized on his birth certificate it’s not him and send it back

[–] SatansMaggotyCumFart@lemmy.world 4 points 4 months ago

On a thirty degree angle.

[–] vithigar@lemmy.ca 2 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

Once even I was much younger I got pulled over and ticketed for an expired vehicle registration. After accepting the ticket I asked the officer how I could now get home, since I was just told that I was not permitted to drive.

The officer said something along the lines of "well you're not supposed to drive and it'll be a big problem if I see you driving again". Then got back in his patrol car, turned around, and left in the opposite direction.

I drove directly home (it wasn't far) and renewed my registration as soon as possible.

...that said, I'd be very surprised to see a sovcit get that kind of leniency.

[–] orbitz@lemmy.ca 3 points 4 months ago

Yeah that's what confuses me about some of these stories, mean I'm not from the locations but I always thought no plate meant it was being impounded. Like how could an officer let them continue driving without proper registration and insurance? That seems reckless on the officer's actions, what if there was a collision? Unless I'm missing something which is very possible, I don't know laws everywhere, gotta take the stories with a grain of salt it seems.

[–] OldChicoAle@lemmy.world 12 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Do these people think they can live outside society and then participate when they need to? Like tax funded roads? Grocery stores? The Internet?!?

If you don't wanna play with us, that's fine. Just go to a place where you can do that. Not here.

[–] BonesOfTheMoon@lemmy.world 12 points 4 months ago (1 children)

They absolutely do. When it comes to shopping, some of them just walk out without paying. They will say everything is free, let me see if I can find the post.

[–] OldChicoAle@lemmy.world 4 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Did you find it? I'm in the mood to be pissed off

  1. I'd pay for the ticket.
  2. I'd register the plate.
  3. Save time in future
  4. ??
  5. ??
  6. PROFIT!
[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 3 points 4 months ago

Just impund those vehicles without proper plate.
