In 2018, Nashville voters were asked about creating a light rail system. The voters said no.

The campaign against the Nashville light rail system was secretly supported by David Koch and Charles Koch, two oil billionaires.

The Koch brothers funded several fake organizations such as Americans for Prosperity urging Nashville voters to oppose the light rail system. They posted ads like this:
