Is 8:37 am too early

Yes, the fuck is wrong with you 'morning people'?

hisses before rolling over

[–] Lembot_0004@discuss.online -3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I tell you what: we don't scream and stomp until 4 in the morning, bothering neighbors. We sleep at night. Sleep. At night. All night. Right from the very beginning of the night. Imagine, scream-stomper?

[–] Fredthefishlord@lemmy.blahaj.zone 15 points 2 days ago (1 children)

No, instead y'all stomp around at 8 in the morning, and mow your lawns at 7 in the morning, rudely walking up night shifters...

[–] Lembot_0004@discuss.online -5 points 2 days ago (3 children)

Stop that. Nightshifters are very few. While most "owl" people just stomp and scream all night and then they want to sleep until midday.

[–] boonhet@sopuli.xyz 9 points 2 days ago

Us night owls generally know others are sleeping at night so most of us are quiet. Morning people though? Fuck morning people. My ex would wake me up at 11 in the morning saying I can't sleep all day. Bitch I went to sleep at 9 after working all night to feed your spending habits. It's been two hours, at least give me a third hour before you wake me up.

[–] SnortsGarlicPowder@lemmy.zip 8 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Bullshit my night shift neighbour is the quietest person in the whole flat!

Nightshifters being a minortity so they don't matter is messed up thing to say. They are the reason bakeries have fresh bread and your shop gets deliveries.

Also you are confusing people going out and coming back drunk with Night owls. That's mainly morning people. As you say, they are the majority after all.

[–] Lembot_0004@discuss.online 2 points 1 day ago

I never said nightshift people are noisy. I said stop hiding behind their backs.

If by "most" you mean your one anecdotal experience

[–] TomMasz@piefed.social 12 points 2 days ago

Lunch is a concept. Any meal can be lunch if you're willing.

[–] Shieldtoad@sh.itjust.works 14 points 2 days ago

It's currently 8:36 am here and I'm having second breakfast.

[–] Rolive@discuss.tchncs.de 7 points 2 days ago (1 children)

It is but it's perfectly on time for second breakfast.

[–] Diplomjodler3@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

But then it's an awful long time until elevenses.

[–] prex@aussie.zone 3 points 2 days ago

Just enough time for morning tea. Then brunch, then elevenses.

[–] RamblingPanda@lemmynsfw.com 5 points 2 days ago

I had a great breakfast at 16:00 in a restaurant serving nothing but breakfast and if that is valid, everything is.

[–] TxzK@lemmy.zip 7 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Also is 13:37 too late for breakfast?

[–] boonhet@sopuli.xyz 2 points 2 days ago

Too early if I'm left to my own devices. Which nowadays is only if I have someone to babysit, otherwise my baby will climb over from her bed to mine and plant her full diaper in my face between 7 and 11:30 depending on her mood

[–] webghost0101@sopuli.xyz 8 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Guys will do everything in order to skip breakfast in the morning.

[–] Zkuld@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

If you cook a full meal for breakfast does it turn into a lunch?

[–] webghost0101@sopuli.xyz 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

The same day is the time between your main sleeping moment.

Breakfast is the meal you have before lunch on the same day.

Lunch is the meal you have before dinner on the same day.

Dinner is the meal you have after lunch on the same day.

If you have only one meal a day its none of the above and just called having “food”.

Hope that clears things up.

[–] boonhet@sopuli.xyz 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

What if I'm doing bifurcated sleep but still eat 2 or 3 meals?

[–] webghost0101@sopuli.xyz 2 points 2 days ago

Midnight snacks, all of them.

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 3 points 2 days ago

It's lunchtime somewhere!

[–] rockerface@lemmy.cafe 6 points 2 days ago

Me reading this at 8:38 AM local time and wondering the same question

[–] Toneswirly@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago

When your kid wakes you up at 5 am every day, 9 am is 1/4 of the way through your day!

[–] hardcoreufo@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago

Have you heard about second lunch?

[–] 2ugly2live@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago

No. Time doesn't matter. 🤷🏿‍♀️

[–] ChaosCharlie@lemmy.ca 4 points 2 days ago

They call that breakfast

[–] 9point6@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

If it's a work from home day, I've only been awake 7 minutes

so yes, I need breakfast first, but then we can talk

[–] drolex@sopuli.xyz 4 points 2 days ago

Why do you think the best scientists in the world gathered and invented the all-day English breakfast?

[–] fredrik@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago

It’s lunch o’clock somewhere.

[–] BurgerBaron@piefed.social 3 points 2 days ago

Food is food. After a night shift I'm having dinner and will BBQ at 6 AM. I do get weird looks from neighbors, but that's just fun.

[–] Mr_Fish@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

Nah mate. Lunch starts at roughly 6pm

[–] UltraMagnus0001@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago

Emmm spicy curry for breakfast

[–] Proprietary_Blend@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago

Lunch beers?

[–] robocall@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago

Lunch hits different that early in the morning. I swear it's better.

[–] mehdi_benadel@lemmy.balamb.fr 1 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Canadians disagree

No if it's the first lunch!
