Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.

5. Only recent news is allowed.

Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.

6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

Donald Trump on Sunday directed federal immigration officials to prioritize deportations from Democratic-run cities, a move that comes after large protests erupted in Los Angeles and other major cities against the Trump administration’s immigration policies.

Trump in a social media posting called on U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials “to do all in their power to achieve the very important goal of delivering the single largest Mass Deportation Program in History.”

He added that to reach the goal officials ”must expand efforts to detain and deport Illegal Aliens in America’s largest Cities, such as Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York, where Millions upon Millions of Illegal Aliens reside.”

Worst president ever. Just straight dividing the country. MAGA to blind to see it or too hateful to care.

Cancer should be renamed to MAGA

[–] Moredekai@lemmy.world 22 points 8 months ago

And the tumor has MAGAstisied.

Trying to increase his odds of inciting violence while satisfying his vengeance fetish.

[–] peoplebeproblems@midwest.social 11 points 8 months ago (1 children)

They will claim violence. But by numbers alone this can be done peacefully. ICE are cowards. They won't engage a group as large as anything we've seen in any city so far.

Engage in asymmetric warfare.

Be sneaky. And destroy inch by inch.

[–] SoftestSapphic@lemmy.world 41 points 8 months ago (3 children)

If you see ICE in public:

-scream "ICE, LA MIGRA"

-call the local swat on them saying "there are armed men trying to kidnap my neighbor and her daughter. They aren't law enforcement and have no identification "

-or hit them with your car.

-masked men without badges pretending to be police

[–] catloaf@lemm.ee 7 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Usually they do have badges.

But if you're across the street and can't see whether or not they have badges, don't mention it. All you can see is masks and guns.

"Masked gunmen dressed in the same loose theme, like gang colours!"

Because truth is only a weapon when it's wielded against fascists.

[–] tamal3@lemmy.world 4 points 8 months ago

And if you have connections to Latino organizations in your area, let them know! There are great groups rising up and getting ICE information out to vulnerable people en masse.

[–] pleasegoaway@lemm.ee 4 points 8 months ago

Call the police. “There masked gang members waving guns outside”.

Let the trash trash trashity trash itself.

“The more you hate me… the more any of them hate me… the stronger I become”.

Something tells me that the MAGA base won't be too happy about this. They want the deportations to happen in their communities.

"Sorry Texas: Because you're full of MAGA people we're cutting your ICE resources."

[–] Crazyslinkz@lemmy.world 14 points 8 months ago

I just saw a comment the other day saying as much. Red states no one deported in a fashion that blue states are being targeted.

[–] tamal3@lemmy.world 6 points 8 months ago

I've talked to so many rich white Republicans who thought the other Hispanics would be deported, not the Hispanics that they know. Leopards and faces, you know.

[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 1 points 8 months ago

Do they really care where they get deported from though? Trump could just make up some lies about the number of people he’s deported and thru would be happy.

In fact Kristi noem could have just staged all those stupid commercials she did from El Salvador. The optics would have been enough.

It was very nice of him to warn the cities.

The population knows how to gather, and they can gather quickly.

This is how this resistance becomes material. Stand up for your neighbor. Make sure your neighbors stand up too.

[–] IsThisAnAI@lemmy.world 17 points 8 months ago (2 children)

More of you than them. Defend yourself.

[–] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 7 points 8 months ago

Yup.

The protests this weekend proved it. There are way more real Americans than traitors in this country. Time to let them know it.

[–] tamal3@lemmy.world 2 points 8 months ago

Defend your neighbors.

[–] frog_brawler@lemmy.world 16 points 8 months ago

So all major cities then... got it.

[–] phoenixz@lemmy.ca 9 points 8 months ago

Yeah, the protests this weekend were amazing but won't do anything unless you do this all day every day non stop until he's gone.

Trump won't care anything unless he starts feeling the effects

[–] ieatpwns@lemmy.world 9 points 8 months ago

Idk he seems pretty deterred by the protests. Almost as if his yuge failure of a party upset him.

[–] PillowD@lemmy.world 4 points 8 months ago

I hope every body notices there are no riots there today...

[–] bomberesque1@lemm.ee 3 points 8 months ago

He's not undeterred by the protests, he's engorged by them

The lady in the picture straight up looks like the SS.
